I booked the “Bramble” caravan in Talacre Beach Resort for a mid-week break in the Easter holidays with my family. Talacre is a place that I hold fond childhood memories and was really looking forward to our stay! The place is still the same, lots to do for families, it has a great pool with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room facilities. There is a bistro bar which serves food suitable for families. It has an entertainment lounge which holds kids shows as well as adult entertainment of an evening. It was really confusing as we had flyers saying the bistro was open from 12pm each day however, we tried to access it on 2 occasions around 2pm and it was closed!so this was very frustrating! Up the road is a small (smaller than it used to be) arcade area with a huge shop where you can get all things from juice, souvenirs, to buckets and spades, towels, pet accessories and flowers! There is a bakery (that has been here for as long as I can remember) which sells absolutely delicious food! A chippy, 2 pubs - both with small playgrounds for kids, and an ice cream shop! Walk a little further and you’re on the beach with huge sand dunes sitting behind it! It stretches for miles and miles and is just so much fun for the kids! Especially when the tide is out. Back to the caravan, I won’t lie I was a little disappointed for what we booked and what we got. It was a little tired. Signs of wear and tear like door handles not being situated on the bathroom door properly. The couch was looking a bit saggy too. There were no lamps so only had blaring light, or none at all! The tv areal didn’t really work so when the kids were in bed, we couldn’t watch tv! The “cloud” internet just kept dropping out. I expected with high traffic it would be slow but it just wasn’t reliable and 4/5G wasn’t really working there either! So we found the evening time to be quite boring for adults! Noise, wasn’t as bad as I was expecting to be honest (except for the very noisy seagulls!), any children running around their vans sounded like a heard of elephants (including my own kids!) so that was probably the loudest noise. We did hear older kids playing outside in the evenings but that was expected and didn’t bother us as such. There were no BBQ facilities allowed which we were disappointed by too. We found the website confusing as to what was included in our stay. We didn’t get towels. The website says some stays include towels but it doesn’t specify who does! There was only 1 toilet roll even though we had 2 bathrooms! And 1 bin bag. To be fair I expected to have to buy some bits for our stay with it being a self catering holiday but it would have been nice to know what we were going to get from the beginning. The van was stocked with plenty of kitchen wear for us to cook so this was fine. The beds were really comfortable and warm though and the central heating was fab! We were also disappointed that there was no outdoor seating around the van! It was exceptionally nice whilst we were there and would have loved to sit outside if we could have! There was a small kids playground on site which wasn’t the best but they made the best of it they could. The Lyon’s camp had a far superior playground and had a bouncy castle! We were told we were not allowed to use this park which was a shame as it was really nice and had a bar area for the adults! It won’t put me off going again and I’ll likely either upgrade to a lodge (with a jacuzzi) or find and rent a privately owned van there (preferably on the Lyon’s grounds). This place is so much fun! There’s also plenty of parking for cars too! This isn’t mentioned on the website either! You pick up your key from the main reception desk and you get a key fob that opens gates around the park. We will be asking for 2 fobs next time as you do need 2 fobs ideally! Overall a 4/5 stars from me! I may be biased as I already loved this place before we stayed but it was comfortable and good fun!

Accomodation clean and modern we stayed in a Bramble. Mattreses could be better. Lovely warm pool and clean changing area. Disappointing that bar not always open and chippy closed till March.Reception staff could be friendlier and remember that people are arriving for their holiday! The two ladies were quite stressed as people were queing to check in and caravans were still being cleaned. We loved the little walk to the beach with a shop, bakery, beach hut, amusement and pub on the way. We stayed for 3 nights and there was enough for us to do that the car stayed in the same spot we parked it on day 1! Despite it needing a few improvements we will defintely return.
