Llanrug 1 mile. A delightful, detached barn conversion, set in its own 1/2 acre of rough paddock, on a secluded part of the owners' land on their sheep farm, one mile from the village of Llanrug, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park in scenic North Wales. This charming single-storey Llanrug cottage has been superbly renovated to offer light, airy and spacious accommodation, with an entrance hall that leads to an open plan living area with fully fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area. The living area boasts a galleried ceiling, revealing exposed oak beams, plus an inglenook fireplace houses a remote controlled feature fire, and there is the added bonus of a corner sofa, which converts into a double bed.
A door leads through into a small dressing room and then into the king-size double bedroom with stylish en-suite bathroom. Outside this Snowdonia cottage is a pleasant patio and lawned garden, which has a 'canal' water feature and provides an ideal place for enjoying a meal or cold drink on a sunny evening. Herb and rockery gardens are also in the grounds, and guests have access to a paddock area where elevated views towards Snowdon Mountain can be seen. This Llanrug cottage is approached via a private gravel track across sheep fields, which gives it a great feeling of isolation, however, you're only a 5-minute walk from the local village pub.

The small village of Llanrug has two pubs, two shops and a Post Office. Llanrug is situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, and is only three miles from Llanberis.

Despite the negatives below (more for the ownerâs benefit) it is a nice secluded cottage. A 15-min walk to Llanrug, with basic facilities (small supermarket, cafe and a pub) and 10-min drive to Llanberis. Good size for one or two people. Great WiFi. The basic cooking and cleaning equipment are appreciated (salt, pepper, oil etc). Quiet at night. The hot water comes out very quickly in the kitchen and shower. Good recycling/composting system. Negatives: the listing doesnât say but check out is 9AM (too early when on holiday). It doesnât have a dishwasher or washing machine (no launderette nearby). The mattress needs updating. The cottage needs some sort of bug repellent system as the owner leaves the windows open before you arrive, which is fine, but we spent all of the first evening removing daddy longlegs and spiders (about 30). Weâd recommend a deep clean too.

You will find the mountains and on the other side the beach both reachable with a 15 mins drive. Many thanks to the lovely landlady for nice talks and a warm welcoming. This cottage is very dog friendly, our dog Boomer thank you for this as well! Will come back again!
