Guests say

Collfryn Cottage in Caernarfon is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its beautiful gardens, secluded grounds, and homely feel. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, quality appliances, and the welcome hamper, which adds a personal touch. The property offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views and is conveniently located for exploring Snowdonia and nearby attractions.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with a few noting areas for improvement such as bedroom carpets and a musty smell upon arrival. The overall impression is positive, but there are suggestions for better maintenance.

The location is generally praised for its quietness, stunning views, and proximity to Caernarfon, beaches, and Snowdonia. However, some guests were disappointed with the accessibility of walks directly from the property.

The cottage is described as cozy, comfortable, and homely, with plenty of space and a warm atmosphere. Some guests found the beds too soft, but overall, the comfort level is high.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a fully equipped kitchen and quality furnishings. However, there are comments about overgrown gardens, a lack of cleaning tools, and issues with outdoor furniture maintenance.

Guests are delighted by the thoughtful welcome pack, including local produce and even doggy biscuits. It's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

    Very well run.

It was warm and comfortable. There was a good walk from the cottage across the fields to the bridge over the river. It felt like a home from home.

However, on arrival on a cold wet day and despite lights being on to welcome us, the heating wasn't and there was a damp and musty smell giving an overall impression of neglect and feeling unlived in (the house is for sale, which possibly explains this). It also took a while to realise that the heating was switched off and the clock on the boiler set at completely the wrong time for the set timings for it to come on. Thankfully we managed to sort it eventually. We were disappointed with the level of cleanliness too, everything felt a bit grubby-the bedroom carpets were stained and full of bits and the mirror behind one of the doors was cracked. We found the beds to be far too soft for us, but that is due to what we are more used to. We had to buy cloths and sponges to wipe surfaces down (there weren't any) as well as additional toilet paper (1 roll in each bathroom only to start with). Logs for the fire weren't provided as stated-or rather, they were so huge as to be unusable! We appreciated all the gifts of local produce and once the house warmed up a bit, it was comfortable enough for the rest of the week-we were very fortunate with the weather to be out every day, so we didn't have to spend long indoors anyway.
