About this property

Trefor 2.8 miles. Nestled in the idyllic village of Llanaelhaearn near Trefor, Gwynedd, is this fantastic two-bedroom lodge, The Cosy Cabin. Enjoying a fabulously rural location with far-reaching countryside views and easy access to the Snowdonia National Park, The Cosy Cabin is a superb base for couples or a family of four embarking on their next retreat to North Wales. Ample off-road parking greets you upon arrival, followed by a delightful, decked area with plenty of seating, a dining area and disposable barbecue, perfect for alfresco dining as you soak up the panoramic countryside views on offer. Step into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to whipping up delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to enjoy at the dining table for four over a bottle of wine. After dinner, kick-back and relax on the plush sofas as you select a much-loved film from the wall-mounted TV. When sleep calls, retire to one of two well-appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin, each with a contemporary décor and plenty of storage for your belongings. In the morning, wake-up tired eyes with a refreshing shower before venturing out to see what the day has in store. For your local amenities, drive over to the small village of Trefor, where you can stock up on essentials at the convenience store, or treat your loved ones to a tasty meal at the welcoming Tafarn Y Twr. Head down to the beach where you can enjoy leisurely strolls or join the renowned Wales Coastal Path for a more scenic hike. Next stop is Nefyn, where you can spend the day bathing on the golden sands or paddling the shores of Traeth Nefyn, delving into history at Amgueddfa Forwrol Llŷn Maritime Museum or sampling the local ales at Cwrw Llyn. Continue on to the pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, where you will find charming shops, an art gallery, and the wonderful eateries of Caffi Glas, Town Hall and No 6 Café Bar. From here you can easily access the breath-taking Snowdonia National Park, sure to entice any outdoor enthusiasts, with its imposing peaks, including the famous Snowdon Peak, fun-filled Zip World Llechwedd for a day exploring the mines, and the National Trust site of Craflwyn and Beddgelert. Be sure to make a stop at Llanberis, where you can take the Snowdonia Railway up to the renowned summit, tour the National Slate Museum, try your hand at watersports on Llyn Peris, or visit the World Heritage Site of Dinorwig Quarry. All this and more awaits at The Cosy Cabin.

Caernarfon Bay may be seen in the distance from Trefor's beach, which is sheltered from the wind and is accessible by the Wales Coastal Path.

Convenience stores, post offices, and a legally sanctioned social club all serve the community well. The Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant are located in the community of Llithfaen, which is only a few miles away. Nearby Nefyn is a lovely seaside town with a two-mile stretch of sandy beach, as well as a decent selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants; the award-winning golf club attracts families and couples from all over. Pwllheli, Abersoch, Caernarfon, Portmeirion, and Bangor, all major tourist destinations, are easily accessible from Trefor.

It's possible to fish, sail, and participate in a variety of water-based activities along the coast of this location. 5 miles away, the Snowdonia National Park's spectacular scenery and plethora of excellent treks awaits.
