Overall, the property is somewhat tired, but it was clean and comfortable.We were greeted with milk, t bags and Welsh cakes, which was much appreciated.It is situated in a good location for the many activities available in the area.We thoroughly enjoyed our short break here.

Alan the owner was fantastic at communicating when we had a problem with the incessantly beeping alarm. However, for the price we thought the cottage was very average. Bear in mind there is no dishwasher. It felt very sparse and not cosy at all, with bare minimum furnishings and no tea, coffee, oil etc there at all (we were given a pint of milk, thank you, but we had nothing to add it to!) I appreciate the listing didn't say fully stocked kitchen but there are usually teabags, and the place was not cheap compared to others in the area. The stair carpet was filthy and needed a good wet clean to get rid of ground-in dirt, which made us think the upstairs carpets probably needed a clean too. There was a disgusting toothbrush holder cup in the bathroom with a pool of previous guests' toothpaste drippings and a jelly like substance in the bottom which gave me the ick. Lastly, Alan's communication about the beeping alarm was brilliant, but it is hard to believe the cleaners who must have attended shortly beforehand had not noticed this.
