About this property

Geufron is a 300-year old barn which has been lovingly converted to provide quality holiday accommodation in a sought-after region of North Wales. The cottage is situated in a rural setting, amidst open farmland and features stunning views across open countryside towards the sea beyond. The cottage is close to the historic and picturesque village of Aberdaron, known as the “Land’s End of Wales”. It has a long maritime history and the crab and lobster fishermen still ply their trade today. Aberdaron beach is a short walk from the cottage. A mile-long sandy beach together with excellent visitor facilities in the village, make Aberdaron a highly desirable and popular destination throughout the year. With its renowned bakery, cafes, shops and two family-friendly pubs, the village offers visitors everything that they could wish for a relaxing break. The Llyn Coastal Path offers breath-taking scenic walks and access to many hidden coves and beaches. As well as Aberdaron beach, do not miss the famous Whistling Sands (Porthor) and Hell’s Mouth (Porth Neigwl) beaches, as well as the beautiful beaches of Abersoch and Pwllheli. Aberdaron today is alive with the history and legends of its maritime past. It is also famed as the last resting place of pilgrims, before they made the perilous sea crossing to Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli). The 12th century pilgrim’s church of St. Hywyn, perched high above the bay is a must visit. A boat trip to Bardsey, known as the Island of 20,000 Saints, offers a memorable day out for all the family, with the chance to see large grey sea colony and seabirds including choughs, gannets, puffins and manx shearwaters.

The open-plan ground floor provides comfortable and spacious accommodation, consisting of fully-fitted and well-equipped kitchen, large dining table and separate sitting area. A second sitting room with TV ensures plenty of space for all the family. There is a wood burner for cosy nights in. The outside terrace provides another dining opportunity, with beautiful views across the bay. The perfect place to enjoy an evening meal as the sun goes down. There are 3 bedrooms, one is a double with en-suite and the other two bedrooms have beds which can be unzipped and used as twin beds. These are served by a family bathroom. There is a charming twin-bed ‘crog-loft’ accessed by stairs from the living room, which is a much-loved ‘secret hideaway’ for children. The generous accommodation is perfect for couples, families or mixed generational family groups alike.

The seaside village of Aberdaron offers lime-washed fishermen's cottages, cafes, shops, and hotels, and the church of St Hywyn. On each side of the river's mouth is the beach for walking and a promenade where you can watch the sailing boats and regattas in the bay. The resorts of Pwllheli and Abersoch are within easy reach, as well as castles and coves, or enjoy fishing, watersports and golf opportunities.
