Courtyard (shared with another property). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Ty Canol is tucked away down a pretty lane in the beautiful countryside of the Lleyn Peninsular. Attached to her sister cottage which shares the same name, this lovely holiday cottage benefits from a private garden area which enjoys superb views across the fields. Low ceilings are part of the charm of the cottage, which is comfortably furnished and is in a fabulous position for exploring this spectacular part of North Wales. A ten minute or so drive will take you to the pretty seaside village of Aberdaron, which boasts a superb beach and amazing views of the coastline towards Cardigan Bay as well as ice cream shops, tea rooms and walks to explore the popular seaside resorts of Pwllheli and Abersoch are between twelve and fifteen miles from Rhiw, where you can indulge in all kinds of watersports, swimming, relaxing, eating and shopping.

We loved staying at Ty Canol-the cottage is warm, clean and very comfortable-the renovations have been done very tastefully. The area is quiet and beautiful if you like coastal path walking. We would happily return.

Owner, Carys, came to meet us when we arrived and introduced herself and check we were ok for everything. Very friendly. Clear instructions on how to get there which we managed to somehow get wrong. Owner was very helpful on the phone directing us from our mistake. Had a lovely week and was able to relax in peace and quiet. The cottage is part of a small collection of clamping pods and 2 cottages on what was the farm. Cottage is clean and very warm. Log fire was nice in the evenings. First supply of logs provided. You can buy log packs from local Spar 1 mile away. Bed very comfortable. The weather was rain everyday but that did not prevent us from getting out and exploring. As mentioned in previous comments, the garden for both cottages surround TY CANOL and so, privacy is not there. I would not want to be in the kitchen with its big window looking out into the garden for both cottages and see next door out there as they are entitled to do. bathroom could do with a refresh. Bath is a metal not modern one so it is cold when used as the hot water is not from a tank so by the time your bath fills, its getting a tad cold. Could do with blinds on the bathroom window. Although frosted glass, it does not prevent those in the glamping pods behind if they are out or anyone using the cottage next door whilst in the garden from seeing your outline. Just be aware. It is a simple thing to sort. Blinds ! Clearly a programme of modernisation of the cottage has taken place to a high degree. however, given that money has been spent on updating and providing TV in every room, etc, the lack of a simple hairdryer beggars belief. On reading previous comments I see this has been mentioned before. Carys confirmed they do not provide a hairdryer. Also a lack of equipment in the kitchen. more glass bowls / dishes of a size for 2/4 would be helpful. As would a veg peeler. Again, this has been mentioned before. It is a self catering place after all. The plastic mixing bowls have seen better days. There is no sieve or basic baking equipment. It is basic stuff which considering the money spent doing up the cottage seems a contradiction. This may seem picky but it is important to inform others so they don't have to go 35 mins to purchase a travel hairdryer for £6.50 (ASDA if you are caught out as we were). The welcome loaf of bara birth was lovely. It was just as well we had brought with us the tea bags / milk so we could enjoy it with a cuppa. Overall, very good value for money. Clean and comfortable. Friendly owner. Could do a few things sorting as mentioned above. These are just our observations and of course are subjective. We would not want anyone to be put off staying there. I hope owner takes on board the constructive comments and is justly pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the cottage.
