The location is celebrated for its beauty and peacefulness, with easy access to local amenities and beaches. However, the presence of farm activity slightly impacts the score.

The cottage is consistently described as comfortable and spacious. However, the lack of fans during hot weather and the issue with flies have led to a slightly lower score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped. The need for 'Slow Down' signs and the issue with the garden's boundary for dogs are noted, affecting the score.

While the owner's attentiveness is mentioned, there are no specific references to gifts or additional thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

A beautiful well equipped cottage which was very clean. However please remember this is a working farm with a certain amount of activity going on and all the sights and smells associated with livestock and farming activity, i.e. bringing in silage etc with noisy, fast and large tractors and trailers! and livestock in barns. Perhaps some "Slow Down" notices warning that children and dogs are around would be useful for the Contractors (there are caravans and another cottage on the farm), we were alarmed at the speed they drove down the drive to the fields! In our case, we specifically needed somewhere with an enclosed garden for our small nervous rescue dog. The cottage does have a garden and it is enclosed, but the boundary, especially the stone wall is not very high and an agile dog could easily jump onto the wall and then out onto farmland where livestock were grazing. We were told immediately on arrival that we should not let our dog off the lead even in the garden because of the livestock worrying risk. We understand the danger of dogs worrying sheep but we specifically searched for a property that accepted dogs and had an enclosed garden so we could work on our dogs recall and let her have the freedom within the garden to safely roam around without the restriction of a lead. We also had an horrendous fly issue in the cottage which were impossible to control. The first few days were very hot and the bedrooms were stifling hot, fans would have been useful especially as we could not fully open the windows as there was an intermittent overpowering smell presumably coming from the cattle sheds, this did not last the whole week of our stay, if it had we would have left earlier. We are not townies we have livestock and land and have been brought up on a mixed livestock farm, we live in a farming area so are accustomed to the sights, sounds and smells associated with the industry. There are also restrictions on what you can and cannot do with your dogs whilst in the cottage, this is totally acceptable but it would have been useful to have known about these limits as we would have searched for a more suitable property. There are a couple of similar comments in the Guests Book regarding this but also some lovely comments from people who have returned time after time. So sorry to be negative as the owners have obviously put a lot of love and care into the cottage, but we have waited five years for a holiday and were so looking forward to our visit back to the area which we have visited for many years..
