Guests say

Guests are enamoured with Old Upper Gwestydd, praising its stunning views, spacious and well-decorated rooms, and variety of entertainment options including a games room, cinema room, and hot tub. The property provides a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, with a welcoming owner and a thoughtful welcome hamper. Despite a minor hornet issue and some signs of wear, the overall experience is highly regarded, making it an ideal retreat for families and groups seeking a rural Welsh getaway.

The property is consistently described as clean, with no negative comments on cleanliness. The term 'beautiful, clean cottage' suggests high standards are maintained.

The location is celebrated for its stunning views and privacy, though it's noted to be a short distance from local shops. The rural setting is a highlight, but no specific negative comments about the location are provided.

Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests mentioning 'comfy beds' and a 'relaxing atmosphere'. The property seems to provide a comfortable environment for guests, with no complaints in this area.

Facilities like the games room, cinema room, and hot tub are highly praised. However, one review mentions the property is 'starting to look a little tired', indicating some maintenance may be needed.

The welcome hamper and the provision of entertainment options show thoughtfulness. However, as gifts like the welcome hamper are not guaranteed for every stay, this is a kind gesture rather than a standard amenity.

To wake up in the morning staring at the vast views, to see the owners feeding their sheep in the distance ,rabbits running around in the fields and to sit in the hot tub relaxing gazing at the stars .... if relaxation is what you need this is the place to come, what a place. We visited the owners other property last year ,that one blew us away, and we were going to revisit, but we decided to try this cottage this time and from the moment you get out of your car you are surrounded by beautiful views, the large family friendly garden has a huge amount of pride taken in it, Every little detail shows the time and care put in their homes that they let. From baking or creating family meals in kitchen or relax in the living room with a good book in front of the warm log burner , games and books for you from the owners ,did see puzzles too but i spent most days watching the farmland.Pool table is great fun too there is darts too or take yourself into cinema room for family film, just as well there are no neighbours as the sound system was bonkers, it was used mostly by our older teenager for his gaming he loved it in there, but the hot tub was icing on the cake whether first thing in morning or just as the sun goes down even rain did not stop us.Gareth and his family are wonderful no matter what you need they will help you, if you are thinking of booking this cottage , i guarantee you will not regret it .Amazing property in a beautiful and elevated position with barely another light to be seen for miles at night, but yet 10 minutes to the local shops for supplies.

This is a stunning property with so much space. You enter into the large kitchen dining space, and are met with a lovely local sourced Welcome Hamper.Plenty of cupboards for tidying away all your food, and a huge array of utensils crockery etc. Microwave, toaster, kettle, everything!Through into the hall which leads into the comfortable lounge, the huge TV room and the games room. Upstairs four great sized rooms along with the toilet shower room, and the bath shower toilet room (Note these are not en suite) All TVs have freesat so plenty to watch if that's your thing. The games room is fun with the pool table and darts.Outside the scenery is stunning looking out over the rolling hills, and just outside the door off the hall is the hot tub - totally private and what a view!We did have an issue with hornets however the owners were extremely quick to respond to get it sorted.Newtown is the closest town which is a charming place with lost to stroll around, and as well as the country town feel to the main high street, there is also a good selection of supermarkets. We had some plans to go further afield, but instead actually stayed pretty much indoors enjoying the relaxing atmosphere of rural Wales.A perfect getaway for all those who love space to relax during the day and cosiness to come together in the evenings.
