This romantic retreat in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) offers a tranquil escape for couples, surrounded by beautiful walks and breathtaking scenery. The well-trodden summits of Pen y Fan, Corn Du, and Fan Fawr are all within 10 miles, and you’ll find gentler routes along nearby rivers and canals. You’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to eating out, with the vibrant market towns of Brecon, Abergavenny, and Hay-on-Wye all within a 20-mile radius.
The top-floor apartment is set within an elegant country home, and has a private entrance reached via external stairs. Inside, you’ll find a colourful and quirky abode, with vibrant paintwork, statement wallpaper, and fun accessories. The cosy lounge has two sumptuous sofas and enjoys views across Bannau Brycheiniog. Relax here, watching the TV and warming your toes by the wood burner-effect electric fire. The kitchen/diner has everything you need to create tasty dishes for two, to share together at the dining table. Journey into the Georgian town of Brecon (5 miles) to explore its wonderful selection of independent shops and eateries. After a spot of retail therapy, take a stroll along the pretty towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or perhaps stride out along the Taff Trail, which starts in the town. The Theatr Brycheiniog hosts some fascinating events and performances throughout the year – be sure to check the calendar so see what’s on during your stay. Hay-on-Wye (18.5 miles) also makes a delightful day out, with its cute cafes, art galleries, boutiques and, of course, multiple book shops.
