Perfect detached property for visiting the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated between Brecon and the literary town of Hay on Wye, 5 miles away, world renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival. It also has traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, and great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés.
There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. There is plenty to do in Brecon, 11 miles away, with the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh a short distance from the property, as well as a theatre and cathedral. The town is also the home of the Brecon Jazz Festival in the summer. Also, easy access to those attending any shows at The Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells, 15 miles. If you fancy taking things at a slower pace, why not take a barge ride down the canal?

Great view of the mountains. Shop in Bronllys nearby and lots of items compared with mist small Morrisons. Off a main road which means no narrow, steep mountain roads to drive on. Bit difficult turning right onto the road because of the hedge but ok with care. We walked in the Berwyns. Not to difficult on the hill roads. Great views and easy parking. For eating, the Italian ay Whitney on Wye is excellent. Our only minor observation was that the kitchen scissors needed sharpening.

Can’t fault the cottage and the views are fantastic. Had great weather and spent a lot of time sat outside. Only criticism is that outside seating could be updated to be more comfortable. Shan was always available if needed and made us feel very welcome.
