About this property

Nestled in a fantastic location near Bronllys in between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, Powys overlooking the truly breath-taking Black Mountains and the dense woodland in Brecon Beacons National Park is Sunny Cottage. This comfortable holiday home benefits from a welcoming open-plan living space and two beautifully presented bedrooms perfect for couples, friends or families looking to explore the wealth of activities in Mid Wales. Cross the threshold entering straight into the fully-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up hearty meals for the whole group that can be enjoyed around the dining table. Later, snuggle up on the plush sofa in front of the TV before stepping outside to raise a toast to your getaway with a glass of fizz while the mountains, woodland and countryside provide a unique, spectacular and unforgettable backdrop. When the sun disappears behind the mountains and stars fill the sky, choose between a king-size and twin bedroom, which are both fitted with handy en-suites. In Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay- on-Wye discover the best garden centre in the UK offering meals, gifts and also brilliant flowers, the Old Railway Line Garden Centre. Venture into Hay-on-Wye, which is commonly known as the ‘town of books’ thanks to the myriad of unique book shops woven throughout the town and is also the home of the renowned Hay Festival of Literature and Arts which occurs annually. Find the breath-taking Hay Castle, which is recently been renovated and continue to delve into the area's history at places like Bronllys Castle, Maendu Well or the imposing 12th-century White Castle. Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element thanks to the endless opportunities in Brecon Beacons National Park; take to Llangors Lake on kayaks, ride horses through the beautiful terrain or the brave may even try to summit peaks including Waun Fach and Pen y Fan. There are also plenty of fantastic fishing opportunities here, with several rivers, lakes, reservoirs and canals peppered throughout; or if you prefer something more exciting, why not try your hand at rock climbing and abseiling in the sheltered crags, old quarries or rocky escarpments, all showcasing stunning views. Make unforgettable memories at Sunny Cottage. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1145295, together sleeping 8 guests.

A picturesque Welsh village, Glasbury is also known as Glasbury-on-Wye. Located north of the Black Mountains and just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park, the village serves as a key crossing point on the River Wye, which once divided the mediaeval counties of Brecknockshire and Radnorshire. The Harp Inn, a tavern that has been around since the 18th century, can be found in the centre of town, as can a gas station stocked with all the basics. Hay-on-Wye, a nearby mediaeval market town, is well worth a visit due to its reputation as the site of the world-famous Hay Festival of Literature, making it a favourite vacation spot for bookworms and those looking to take in the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery of the Wye Valley.

Very few ‘extras’! One j cloth for all possible cleaning and washing up, no small supplies of salt, pepper, sugar etc which we usually find in your properties. Helpful owner when we asked but they were away for first 2 days. Very little local info except walks, none on shops and eating out. Disappointing but the night sky was brilliant!

Cottage had wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We would certainly visit again.
