Guests consistently praise The Cart House for its peacefulness, stunning location, and friendly hosts. The property is well-equipped, offering a comfortable stay with modern kitchen amenities and a cosy bedroom. The surrounding wildlife and views are a highlight, and thoughtful touches from the hosts, such as home-baked bread, add to the charm.
Reviews frequently mention the property being spotless, indicating a high level of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The property's remote and peaceful setting is highly valued by guests, although it is noted that it's less convenient for frequent pub visits. The beautiful views and wildlife are a significant plus.
The Cart House is described as comfortable and cosy, with a comfy bed and effective aircon/heater. Some guests noted the sitting room could be cold without the log burner.
The property is well-equipped with a modern kitchen and 'bean to cup' coffee machine, though some appliances may be overly complicated. The shower has good pressure, but one mention of low water pressure suggests a slight inconsistency.
Guests are delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as home-baked bread and other treats. While these are greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

The Carthouse is in a lovely hamlet, very well provisioned with all that you need. The hosts Nigel and Caroline are super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The peace and quiet is extraordinary including the wildlife being a constant source of wonder. It is quite remote however once you get your bearings it is perfect. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant few days in The Carthouse. It was comfortable and clean and the aircon/heater worked well after I had unwittingly messed-up the controls!!Nigel and Caroline are the most amazing people who have had a very varied and interesting life. Their fostering work is truly admirable…what a couple! Film stars too!!The area is very quiet and the countryside truly stunning…we should have come when we were younger and scaled a few of the many hills and mountains nearby! As it was..we visited several nice pubs and the highlight was The Bear in Crickhowell…really excellent for atmosphere and food.Hopefully we shall return to this lovely part of Wales one day.
