This beautiful barn conversion, 3 miles from Crickhowell, enjoys a peaceful setting with uninterrupted views of the Black Mountains. The spacious property sleeps six guests and suits both groups of friends and large families. Enjoy day trips to the foodie town of Abergavenny (8 miles) or the literary hub of Hay-on-Wye (17.5 miles). The cottage is also perfectly placed for the popular Green Man Festival, which takes place every summer, just 2.5 miles away.
The bright and airy barn conversion seamlessly blends original features, such as exposed beams and stonework, with contemporary furniture and accessories. The sociable kitchen/diner is a lovely space to gather after a busy day, cooking a hearty meal in the stylish kitchen area and sharing family mealtimes around the wooden dining table. After dinner, make yourself comfortable on one of the leather sofas in the lounge to watch the TV/DVD or read a book in front of the wood burner. A bespoke, oak staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find three pretty bedrooms, all with charming oak beams and wooden floorboards. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. To the rear of the property is a private courtyard with outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and spectacular views across the Usk Valley.
Crickhowell is a pretty town with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The town is a magnet for walkers, with easy access to the Black Mountains and routes from the town along the River Usk, Beacon’s Way, or to the summit of Crug Hywel. The picturesque town of Hay-on-Wye makes a lovely day out, with its myriad of second-hand book shops, quaint tearooms and quirky boutiques. You can also hire canoes and paddleboards in the town to explore the area from the river.
