Cowlas is in an amazing location. So peaceful and with amazing views of the countryside. The hot tub is really lovely overlooking the hills and the outside space is great in the nice weather. The cottage itself is well laid out with a good shower and the log burner is lovely in colder weather. It's not as well equipped as most places we've stayed before and we found we needed to wash everything up after each use as there wasn't much spare crockery. There are also not many utensils and we found it tricky to cook meals with only two small-ish pans and no baking trays. The cottage also needs a little bit of TLC. For example, there are holes in the ceiling where lights have been replaced in the bedroom but not filled and painted, the loo wasn't fixed to the wall and almost came off several times, some light bulbs don't work etc but it was very clean and tidy and the decor is nice. The nearest local facilities are about 5 miles and 20 minutes drive away on narrow lanes and so the location is pretty remote which suited us perfectly but might not suit anyone who wants a pub or shop nearby. All in all we enjoyed a peaceful week at Cowlas and would recommend it.

We had such a lovely stay here. The place is so peaceful, cosy. The views are beautiful, and waking up to sheep and baby lambs right outside was honestly the sweetest thing. One of our favourite parts was being able to see both the sunrise and sunset over the hills from the lodge , it made the whole experience feel even more special. At night, the sky was so clear and full of stars, and its just incredibly quiet and calming. Weve stayed in quite a few places before, but this one really stands out. It has everything you need, and the hosts were so kind and helpful throughout. Well definitely be back
