About this property

Lodge at Nadur sits quietly in the little hamlet of Commins Coch, offering a peaceful rural hideaway for couples who want to slow down, switch off, and enjoy the simple pleasures of Mid Wales. This single-storey bolt hole has an easy, laid-back feel from the moment you step through the door, making it a great base whether you're here to relax or lace up your walking boots and head for the hills. Inside, the open-plan living area keeps everything close at hand. The kitchen has everything you need to put together hearty breakfasts or simple suppers, and the dining table is a good spot for chatting about the day ahead.

After exploring the local lanes and valleys, settle into the sitting area with the Smart TV or bring the evening outside to the enclosed gravelled terrace, where you can take in the peace and quiet with a drink in hand. When it’s time to call it a night, the double bedroom offers a comfortable retreat and even includes its own TV, while the sleek shower room gives you a fresh start each morning. The surrounding landscape is classic Mid Wales, rolling hills, wooded walks, and riverside paths, all easily reached from the cottage. Machynlleth, with its independent shops and cafés, is close enough for everyday essentials, and the nearest pub offers a warm welcome after a day out.

If you're keen to explore further, Dolgellau brings riverside strolls and views that seem to go on forever, while Aberystwyth offers sandy beaches, a traditional promenade, and the charm of the cliff railway. For those who enjoy dramatic scenery, Snowdonia National Park opens the door to impressive peaks, serene lakes, and countless outdoor adventures. Whether you're wandering historic sites, birdwatching in quiet valleys, or simply appreciating the slower pace of rural life, this part of Wales never disappoints. With its relaxed atmosphere and excellent location, Lodge at Nadur is a lovely choice for anyone seeking a restorative retreat in the heart of Powys.

The small market town of Machynlleth sits amid the rolling hills of Mid Wales. The streets of the town spread out from the 19th Century clock tower, and offer a good mix of specialist shops, pubs, and cafes, in addition to the regular street markets held every Wednesday. The town boasts two art galleries, and is home to the Museum of Modern Arts, Wales, which showcases the work of a variety of international artists, as well as staging concerts and lectures in its 400 seater auditorium. Just ten miles from the coast, Machynlleth is also ideally placed for taking advantage of superb walking, riding, fishing and rock climbing available in the area.
