We stayed in Oakwood Lodge for a 4 night midweek stay and its idyllic for peace and quiet with excellent views and 5☆ quality. The owner was very helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Everything provided was to a very high standard. We loved sitting out on the balcony, (which was very safe for dogs) watching the numerous birds so bring your binoculars. The hot tube was fantastic, great for an afternoon soak after walking. Its a working farm but we were not troubled by any noise or disturbance. Its about 15 minutes walk to the local village, so ideally placed. Would we go again? most definitely summer or winter.

The cabin was finished to a very high standard and a great place to relax and unwind. Everything was immaculate and spotlessly clean apart from the outdoor dining table which had been overlooked and needed a thorough wipe down before use. The website pictures are a little misleading in that only one of the 3 cabins has any decent view of the small lake; however the cabin looked immediately over sheep-filled fields which was lovely. Our cabin had two outdoor wooden outdoor recliner chairs without cushioning which were uncomfortable and unsuitable for our use, however we noticed that the other two cabins both had more comfortable recliner seating. Overall we really enjoyed our stay - the area is peaceful and well placed for quiet walks and the hot tub a bonus for aching legs on your return home! There is a very small general store/post office about 15min walk away (closed Sunday) so bring provisions with you or the nearest supermarket is approx. 15-20min drive away.
