Grab your hiking books and set off on a trail through Warren Woods to the Water-Break-its-Neck waterfall (4 miles) – it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic. Alternatively, head into the town of Presteigne to browse the antiques shops and explore the fascinating world of the Victorian judges at the Judge’s Lodging Museum. Further afield, head to Bryngwyn Riding Centre (13.5 miles) and witness Mid Wales’s spectacular scenery from the saddle. Or spend a happy day exploring the quirky bookshops and cosy cafes in Hay-on-Wye (18 miles).
Step inside this beautiful cottage and kick off your shoes in the porch. Make your way through to the open-plan farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area and cook up a storm for your loved ones.
