Parc cottage is a pleasant 18th-century stone-built detached farmhouse nestled in a beautifully rural setting, next to the owner’s property on a 20-acre estate with sheep grazing in nearby fields. The idyllic location on the edge of a 6000-acre Dyfnant forest, and just 3 miles from Llanwddyn village and 4 miles from Lake Vyrnwy, makes it perfect for those seeking a tranquil countryside retreat for walking, cycling, and exploring nature.
Inside, the cottage boasts a spacious kitchen and open-plan dining area with a log burner, offering a cosy feel. There’s also an additional sitting room with its log burner, adding to the homely atmosphere. A games room provides great entertainment with table football, plus, there’s a garden patio featuring a hot tub for those in the group wanting some relaxation. Furthermore, a lawned garden with a barbecue setup is perfect for enjoying outdoor gatherings. The house offers ample accommodation with four bedrooms, one en-suite and a further two bathrooms, accommodating up to seven guests comfortably. It’s an ideal space for families and friends looking to unwind in the serene countryside. There are many places of interest within easy reach of Parc Cottage too, with Powis Castle (National Trust) in Welshpool and Chirk Castle (National Trust) in Chirk.
Welshpool is a very quaint market town with plenty of independent shops and eateries plus there’s the Llanfair Railway which runs between Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion to explore. If you want to venture out further, Shrewsbury offers an array of shops, bars, and restaurants to enjoy and there are also Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty situated close by, including The Stiperstones Nature Reserve and Haughmond Hill, with commanding views across the River Severn and Shrewsbury to the South Shropshire and Welsh hills beyond. In the other direction is Snowdonia National Park. For walkers, there are plenty of trails on your doorstep, explore the nearby woods and areas around the house or explore Glyndwr’s Way - the long-distance path, that passes over the Vyrnwy dam.

Excellent cottage of a high standard in a remote forest location which is great for a tranquil escape to relax and unwind. Hosts were friendly and helpful for our needs whilst on our stay. Sit in the hottub on the night time in a well kept patio/ garden what more could you want.
