Travelling into the county, enjoy strolls around Lake Vyrnwy Dam, Elan Valley and Rhiwargor Waterfall, before hopping onboard the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, offering scenic journeys throughout the countryside. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, hike, cycle or climb up to Dylife Look-out Point, a picturesque valley, enveloping River Twymyn. Explore the winding National Trail of Glyndwr Way for views of open moorlands or for sea-air, there are the seaside towns of Barmouth and Aberystwyth. Snowdonia National Park is also reachable by car, with a wealth of beauty spots to visit, with Pont Minllyn, and Aran Fawddwy as firm favourites. The Cann Office Hotel, previously Cae 'n Fos, a mediaeval walled camp on the River Banwy, contains a bar, restaurant, and gardens. Dyfnant Woodland is a 6000-acre forest on high ground that drops magnificently to Lake Vyrnwy. The 11-mile-long lake is noted for its scenic hikes, bike trails, and bird watching.
