The outdoors lovers' haven of Betws-Y-Coed is surrounded by dense woodland and impressive mountains, and is known as the Gateway to Snowdonia. The River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west at Betws-Y-Coed, and North Wales' most popular inland resort offers cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. The most magnificent of the waterfalls is Swallow Falls, found where the waters of the Llugwy River fling themselves into a dramatic chasm. The village is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, and also marks the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the towns of Llandudno and Conwy.
