Betws-Y-Coed has truly achieved its status as the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia'. Set in a stunning and temperate valley in the Snowdonia National Park, the village has served as an inspiration to artists and painters since Victorian times. Sitting on the banks of the River Conwy, Betws-Y-Coed is an ideal base for a variety of outdoor pursuits. Wildlife enthusiasts will delight in the hundreds of square miles of unspoilt scenery that houses an abundance of birds, animals and species of rare plant. Walkers, mountain-bikers and climbers can anticipate the challenges offered by Mount Snowdon and her smaller cousins. For the less adventurous, a railway has been constructed that will take you to the summit of Snowdon, allowing you to experience the breathtaking views without the breathtaking effort.
