Stay in this secluded 17th-century stone cottage based in the quaint village of Arthog, offering incredible views across Snowdonia National Park. The beautiful old features and remote location ensure it’s a truly peaceful place for a getaway. Escape to this characterful holiday home for a tranquil retreat from which to enjoy this unspoiled area of North Wales; a perfect place for three guests and two well behaved dogs.
Enter the door to this rustic cottage and relax amongst traditional decor, including exposed beams, charming period features and a gorgeous inglenook fireplace. Throw together wholesome dinners in the creatively designed kitchen/diner and eat together around the table, clinking glasses as you go. The welcoming living room offers snuggly nights in front of the TV, or choose to chill out with a few chapters of your favourite book. The garden is a real benefit of this property, providing guests with the chance to enjoy a glass of red wine with the backdrop of the Mawddach Estuary to gaze upon. It’s also fully equipped for hearty al fresco breakfasts in the sunshine. At bedtime, choose from the ground-floor single bedroom, or make your way up the narrow steep stairs to a king-size bedroom and another single. Completing the property is a delightful bathroom for those leisurely morning soaks.
Bring your backpacks and start the day with an energy-boosting stroll or cycle along the Mawddach Estuary. For a more challenging route, follow the Arthog Falls and Cregennan Lakes trail (0.5 miles), leading you through 8.5 miles of ancient woodlands, majestic lakes and some unbelievable wildlife-spotting locations. Refuel in the town of Dolgellau (7 miles) or the coastal village of Fairbourne (2 miles), where you will find ample pubs, shops and eateries.
