About this property

If you are looking for peace, tranquillity and breathtaking scenery, then look no further. This stone-built structure is a former traditional Welsh farmhouse which dates back to the 1750s. It is a hidden treasure set well off the beaten track at Cwm Pennant - often referred to as one of the most beautiful valleys in Wales, and is located within Snowdonia National Park. The property is engulfed by panoramic unspoilt views of Snowdonia National Park, the mountains of Snowdonia and distant views of the sea, with the Nantille Ridge prominent at the head of the valley and Moel Hebog to the east.

This is fine walking and climbing territory, surrounded by natural beauty and nature - you'll be spoilt for choice The name 'Cwm Pennant' simply means ‘valley at the head of the stream’. Welsh poet Eifion Wyn wrote of the place “Why, Lord, did you make Cwm Pennant so beautiful/And the life of the old shepherd so short?” The property is some seven miles from the coastal resorts of Criccieth and Porthmadog, within the borders of Snowdonia National Park.On a clear day, you can even see as far as St Davids in South Wales - a haven for those who love being outdoors.

A one-mile farmers track climbs up to the historic stone built cottage, where you and your loved ones can enjoy a serene location and cosy interior, bursting with character. The living room boasts two woodburning stoves, one of which is set within an exposed stone inglenook, adding warmth, a sense of charm and character to the sitting areas on a cold winter's night. The kitchen has a large dining table and is wonderfully appointed for all your cooking requirements. There is a ground floor cloakroom for convenience and the three bedrooms upstairs are served by a contemporary-style bathroom. Outside, you have your own private garden and a hot tub, allowing you to soak away any troubles and enjoy a relaxing end to a venturesome day.

The nearest pub is The Goat, serving tasty homemade food, located approximately 1 mile along the A487 in Glandwyfach, with the nearest shop a few more miles away in Tremadog. Porthmadog is home to shops, eateries and the Ffestiniog Railway, where you can travel through Snowdonia, savouring a romantic journey via steam engine, to Blaenau Ffestiniog. Criccieth is also nearby, offering a superb coastal location, with fine restaurants, its imposing castle and beautiful sandy beaches.
