Guests say

Penty is a beautifully maintained cottage in Dolgellau, praised for its stunning mountain views, peaceful setting, and proximity to the town centre. Guests consistently highlight the spotless cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable, airy living spaces. The upside-down layout maximises the scenery, and the property is dog-friendly. While the lack of WiFi and some steep access points are noted, these are minor compared to the overwhelmingly positive feedback. The friendly and helpful owner is frequently mentioned, making this an excellent base for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia.

Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, immaculate, and very well maintained. No significant negative comments were made regarding cleanliness.

The location is highly rated for its breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and easy access to Dolgellau and local attractions. Some mention the steep hill, but this is generally seen as a minor issue.

Guests find the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with special mention of comfy beds and modern heating. A few guests found the mattresses firmer than preferred, but this did not detract from overall comfort.

Facilities are excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, modern amenities, and thoughtful touches. The main drawback is the lack of WiFi and some comments about TV size and garden access, but these are outweighed by the positives.

The owner is frequently described as friendly, helpful, and responsive to feedback. While guests appreciate the attention to detail and occasional small touches, there is no mention of guaranteed gifts, so these cannot be assured for future stays.

It was comfortable and had what we needed. Very close to the town but felt like it was in the countryside. Gorgeous views from the front and back. There were benches out of the front and back. We enjoyed using both of these while appreciating the views.

Unbeknownst to us our stay coincided with the music/beer festival. Absolutely fantastic. The cottage is superbly situated, and so comfortable and spotless clean. One tiny niggle would be the big knife is very flimsy, and tricky to use, although we departed with all fingers in tact. 100% would return
