About this property

Dolgellau 2.2 miles. Beudy Tal y Waen is a beautiful, rustic, and rural barn conversion resting on the outskirts of Dolgellau, a market town in Gwynedd. Complete with a traditional feel and preserving some of its original beamed ceilings, whilst set in the splendid Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, the cottage makes the ideal base for a family break, inviting five guests. Park up off-road before stepping into the cottage, entering the living/dining room, complete with rustic beams and purlins, and a plush corner sofa, making this living area a homely place to relax after a day of exploration. Continue through to the contemporary, well-equipped kitchen, where you can rustle up delicious meals to be enjoyed around the dining table, or alfresco, with countryside views as your backdrop. Venture up the oak-clad stairs, revealing a split-level landing, part of which has a coffee table and two armchairs looking towards the glass roof, presenting an incredible view of the nearby stunning scenery; enjoy the sunrise with a coffee or a sunset with a glass of wine from this space. The first floor also boasts two delightful bedrooms, incorporating outside features such as hand-crafted oak tree stumps as bedside tables, a charming touch to an already impressive house; the double bedroom with en-suite holds a private decked balcony with furniture and yet another breath-taking view of the Welsh hills. Beudy Tal y Waen is approximately 2 miles from Dolgellau town, resting in between the well-known mountain Cadair Idris and Barmouth beach just over 10 miles away. The town itself offers a range of pubs, shops, and restaurants, making an ideal holiday destination, along with the New Precipice Walk / Llwybr Llanelltyd walking trail, recommended to pack your walking boots for. Further afield of Dolgellau sit the popular seaside resorts of Fairbourne and Barmouth, both offering a range of outdoor activities for all the family to enjoy, including the Fairbourne Railway, Barmouth Pier, and hikes across Arthog Waterfalls, whilst the national park has plenty of beauty spots to add to your itinerary. Experience a rural escape to North Wales at Beudy Tal y Waen.

This charming little market town is situated in southern Snowdonia, halfway between the sea and the Cader Idris mountain range. It's a fantastic home base for a vacation, ideal for combining the many outdoor activities available in Snowdonia with leisurely days at Barmouth, Fairbourne, and Aberdovey's soft sand beaches. The town itself has a good assortment of stores, five pubs, a wine bar, as well as many top-notch cafes, restaurants, and bakeries that daily produce fresh bread and pastries. Dolgellau is said to have the highest concentration of listed buildings in all of Wales, with over 200 of them, and it has been classified as a "cycling break centre," with several specific cycle routes running through the town.
