Adjoining the 400-year-old farmhouse of Erw Goed, Hen Stabl (the old stable) has been restored to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Set in the Snowdonia National Park in a beautiful and secluded location, it is close to many popular tourist attractions. The market town of Dolgellau, 6 miles, and 3 miles from the sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. Cadair Idris is 4 miles, whilst Coed-y-Brenin offers good walks and mountain biking. Just a stone’s throw from the Mawddach Estuary. The owners keep bees, chickens and ducks, so eggs, honey and beeswax products are available. Guests have access to the 85-acre smallholding and woodland and there is a bothy and camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires. Shop and pub 3 miles.

Such a wonderful place! Lovely hosts and accomodation. The grounds are truly wonderful to explore and the kids loved some tree climbing (me too)! Peaceful, quiet, and some wild landscape right on you doorstep. We look forward to coming back.

We had a brilliant stay at Hen’s Stabl. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Paul, and the check-in process was seamless the keys were already waiting for us in the door. As parents, we were really impressed by how well they catered for our son. Paul took the time to chat with us and provided everything we needed for peace of mind regarding safety. They supplied a high chair and a travel cot, complete with a proper mattress to ensure our son had a comfortable night's sleep.The property was exceptionally clean and well equipped, with towels provided. While there is no washing machine in this specific cottage (though some of their other properties do have them), it certainly didn't detract from our stay. The log fire was a highlight we kept it going throughout our winter visit, making the whole place feel incredibly cozy.The 30 acres of land are stunning. We loved the idea of the “treasure map" activity; it was a lovely, creative way to explore the area and crack the code as a family. We would Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, cozy, and family oriented getaway!

Our stay at the cottage was absolutely wonderful! The hosts were warm, friendly, and always ready to help. The surroundings were simply magical beautiful landscapes, forests, and a small stream nearby made us feel like we had stepped into a fairytale. It was the perfect place to relax . We would love to come back one day!
