Situated in the popular Penmaenpool home to the grade II listed, wooden toll bridge, this amazing Toll bridge was built in 1879 across the tidal Mawddach Estuary at Penmaenpool. The toll bridge is still in use today, linking the coastal towns of Tywyn and Barmouth in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The Mawddach Trail walking and cycle path passes here, and follows the route of the old railway line from Dolgellau to Barmouth; cycle hire is available in both Dolgellau and Barmouth.

We were quite a large party and so we also booked another local cottage. We divided our time between the two places. This cottage was great. Really comfortable beds, just right for a relaxed start to the day.
