What our customers say about their holidays

Nellies cottage has been an amazing place to stay.
Everything has been just marvelous. From walking the lanes until 11:30pm in wonderful twilight to the decor and finish of the house. The owner has to be complemented on the quality of the house, decor and finish. Plus all of the little touches. WIFI reception was great. Anna was a true host and was lovely to work with. Her directions were spot on. Ask her for instructions on how to use the oven. Apart from a little bit of traffic, the only sound you could here was sheep and cows. The patio furniture was simply a brilliant idea combined with super weather we used it for nearly every meal. While here, you must see Bantry the town (with a great market on Fridays) and Bantry House gardens. You must see the following: âGarnishâ island and grounds. 10 out of 10. Drombeg Stone Circles. 4 out of 10. The Long Strand at Owenahincha 8 out of 10. For a remote walk down a wonderful beach. Inchydoney Beach 10 out of 10. Drive to Barley Beach 8-10. Clonakilty Town 9 out of 10. Cute town great little spot. Castlefreke and woodland area 6 of 10. Sheepâs Head Walk and turning point (Scenic drive 9 out of 10). Excellent eveningâs walk at the end of the drive. Also try the Ewe Experience in Glengarrif. 10 out of 10. Very cool little spot. While in Glengarrif you also should visit the Woods Nature Reserve, climb up to the scenic view and also walk the meadow trail. 8 out of 10. A really nice walking trail with lovely views. Visit Kenmare for a lovely afternoon filled with lovely shops and eateries. We didnât have enough time to visit Killarney National Park on this visit another time.

We had a fantastic week at Millfield House, just one week ago.
Gail, the owner, was so delightful that I wished she lived next door! She greeted us with great warmth and explained everything about the house and area and made us feel very welcome to contact her if we needed to. We arrived to tea set out and goodies as well, along with provisions for a great breakfast the next morning which was so welcome since we had just flown all night and driven most of the day. The house was beautiful with everything one could ever want and so much more than the photos could depict. It was beautifully furnished with warm and comfy furniture, wonderful beds, complete bathrooms (3) and a great, well equipped kitchen and dining area. And spotlessly clean! The garden in the back was lovely with flowers and a table for eating and a fireplace in the living room to take the evening chill off. We had guests join us for a few days and Gail was lovely about the extra people. There was plenty of room for us all but still cozy and welcoming. We loved the little pathway that led to the town of Kenmare - just a few minutes walk to all of the great pubs, music, shops and sights of the town. The area was perfectly situated for drives to the Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry and other sights. We loved the pancake house, Strawberry Fields, just a short beautiful drive away - great for a rainy morning and lovely drive. There were plenty of great walks around the area and breathtaking drives. Pub fare was delicious and we had wonderful cuisine at the Lime Tree and '35'. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful house, area and most delightful owner and would not consider staying anywhere else!

A very cosy cottage sited in its own sheltered grounds just a short distance away from the farmhouse of owners Andrew and Nora (not forgetting their friendly labrador, Molly).
Thanks again for the gift of eggs, Nora. The rural setting is very peaceful. There is a quiet pub (OâDriscollâs) at Reenascreena, less than half an hourâs walk away - 5 mins by car. If youâre interested in Irish history then thereâs plenty to see - Michael Collinsâ birthplace near Samâs Cross (call in at the manâs former local inn, The Four Alls, afterwards for a pint named after him - âThe Big Fellaâ). The town of Clonakilty is a 15 minute drive away and is where the Michael Collins House Museum is to be found. We had nice meals at OâDonovanâs Hotel on the main street in Clon. Skibbereen Heritage Centre (20 mins or so in the opposite direction) tells the history of The Irish Famine of the 1840s as well as that of nearby Lough Hyne, Irelandâs first marine nature reserve. There are plenty of opportunities to walk in the area if history is not your âthingâ. Thereâs a very relaxed feel to this part of West Cork. People are chatty and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at An Grianan. Alun & Ruth

The cottage was lovingly restored with many original features retained or restored.
It was decorated very tastefully and there were lots of nice serving dishes and glasses so we entertained friends one evening. There was a lovely relaxing drawing room with an open fire and the host provided fuel for same. This cottage is great for children as a field out front but without road access to play games and bug hunt! A concrete yard in the back ideal for scooting. The hens and cows also provided more entertainment! As it rained a few days while we were there we were very lucky to have such a nice space to play board games/cards and prepare meals. The hosts were wonderful checked into make sure we had everything we needed, recommended places for swimming and dinner out. They also dropped over homemade brown bread and lemon drizzle cake straight from the oven which was a delight! I would highly recommend this cottage if you want somewhere very peaceful in nature yet only an 8 min drive from hustle and bustle of Kilkee and Kilrush. We will definitely revisit.

Nice house with spectacular views from the garden!
Good spot to explore west Cork! Clonakilty village is few minutes drive away and the âmodel villageâ in Clonakilty was a good experience for the kids. We had late booking and our friendly hosts, Andrew & Nora accommodated our very late check-in (Thank you!). Andrew gave us directions over the phone which was great and avoided us going through undesired country roads. The house was clean and warm with two double en-suite bedrooms and a single bedroom downstairs. Well equipped kitchen, good WiFi speed (downstairs), flat screen TV, board games and amazing reading selections for children and adults. Mobile coverage isnât great but I guess you donât need it on your getaway break! Itâs next to a working farm and we were welcomed with fresh eggs in the kitchen. We had a nice break from the hustle & bustle of city, thanks again Andrew and Nora!
