  Great location and a comfy, warm and clean holiday home. We had a great week at Dune View which was so close to the beach and estuary walks. There was ample space for the two of us and our 2 whippets (who loved the beach so much) and it was great to have a dog secure garden and parking space! Thanks to the owners for their clear instructions.. We loved Instow and the surrounds and walked on the various beaches including Instow to Yelland, Crow Point and Saunton Sands, Greysands beach. We prefer estuaries -they are always so much more interesting when the tide is out and change so much from one hour to the next. We also enjoyed the local pubs that were on our doorstep and very dog friendly. Hoping to return in the future and would recommend Dune View as great value for money for a nice quite off-peak break.

  The Hideawah is a lovely cosy cottage set in beautiful countryside.

  If you want a peaceful getaway Thr Hideaway is perfect. Loved the quirkiness - small cottage windows, beamed low ceilings and uneven floors. The garden was idyllic with views over the pond to the hills beyond. Even though the cottage is right next to a narrow lane, hardly any cars drove past. Beware of the steep stairs to the bedroom, low ceilings downstairs (it was perfect for me and my husband, I’m 5’2” and he is 5’5”). Beware, the cottage is also surrounded by very narrow lanes with blind bends. Saying that we never encountered a vehicle coming the other way as the cottage is quite remote. Otters Saint Mary was a 5 minute drive away, Sidmouth was 20 minutes away. Would highly recommend The Hideaway and would consider returning in the future.

  This is our third time at Dune View and we have had another wonderful holiday there. The cottage is in the best location ever, opposite the dunes and beach of Instow, and the cottage itself has everything you could possibly want in a holiday cottage. Very good utensils and equipment in the kitchen. A really comfy bed with good bed linen. A great garden with all the garden furniture you could need. A great television and wi-fi and if you have a dog then you could not wish for a better place. Instow is so dog friendly and with the cottage opposite the beach that allows dogs all year and the Tarka trail running through the village, our dog Lola has the best time ever. Happy dog, happy mum and dad!

  We were delighted with this cottage.

  It had thick cob walls and thatched roof. There was a large wood burner for heating, but we did not need to light it, as the house was warm enough. The views were superb, there was a duck pond with waterlilies, a vineyard and we were allowed to walk are dog in the adjoining fields. The kitchen had everything you needed, except a microwave (we use ours a lot at home). The roads are very narrow with high hedge banks either side, but little traffic. This is Devon, so you have to get used to it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  What a fantastic location for an ‘away from it all’ relaxing break.

  Total tranquility save for the birdsong. Lovely grounds with a garden and pond. Fantastic walking right from the doorstep, perfect for dogs. Only minutes away from any facilities too. The very narrow surrounding lanes might not be every driver’s cup of tea but we had no problems. The cottage is ancient but has been wonderfully modernised. The owners Nicki and Ben are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay, wished it could have been longer, fabulous weather was just a bonus!
