This property was ideal for a couple (& our small dog), but it should be noted it has two single beds. The location was great - just a short drive from Dunster, just before Timberscombe. We were able to walk into Timberscombe to The Lion Inn for dinner one evening, but with no pavement or footpath you are taking your life in your hands. The location has its own private land, so there is plenty of space to take the dog for a comfort break in the morning/night. The indoor pool & jacuzzi is a great plus & made a lovely start to our day, although isn't accessible until 9:30am. Our little cottage was clean & well equipped, the beds were comfy & bedding good quality. It had a small TV & DVD (bring your own DVDs or there is a limited selection in the info office), it was warm & cosy - with wifi available in the living room. There is a small contained patio outside - with table & chairs and the dog could go outside safely. Overall an ideal base to explore the area. The site was quiet & although near the road there is very little traffic at night. There is a separate upstairs property & we could hear them moving about, but it was minimal. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this location & these properties.

The apartment is more than bijou, only suitable for a one or two night stay if you don't have to unpack anything because you can barely more in it and there's very little storage. It's dark and dingy, the light shades are filthy, stained and have cobwebs on them. The china is chipped. The curtains and linings are filthy and stained. Washing up bowl is about 50 years old. Everything, except the bed sheets are old and past their sell by date - all worn. The microwave stank of curry when I opened the door to cook something - I abandoned that. There were crumbs of food under the cushions in both of the lounge chairs. I had to wash some of the cutlery up and I ended up washing crockery too. The patio outside the door was very when we turned up and with the rain it was lethal to walk on. It stayed like that for the five days - we left two days early. We couldn't wait to get out of it. The whole experience was horrible. We've stayed in lots of self catering places a million times better than this place. Grass area totally waterlogged, unusable. Did not feel inclined whatsoever to use the swimming pool.

Fantastic location , perfect for us and our family our 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed time to themselves visiting nearb Minehead and enjoying the beautiful dunster village eating out and mooching in the lovely local shops. We all went to Tarr steps which is a lovely circular walk perfect for us all and the dog absolutely beautiful place. Dunster beach is just down the road great walk along the beach or path to blue anchor. The steam train is also worth going on you feel like you have stepped back in time. The rest of the week we ditched the car as the walks we went on you could do right from the cottage up to the tower just behind the cottage. We also walked to nutcombe bottom where it has the tallest tree in England. On the way back we stopped at view point for a picnic what a view. So many more places to visit and explore but we ran out of time. Would definitely like to return to explore more. The cottage was clean and comfortable and we loved the tv in the bathroom a real novity.

Cosily furnished and perfectly adequate for 2 people and a dog. The complexis small and are sympathetically restored barns. Good for a few people as you have your own small outdoor space for eating and just enjoying the secenery. However, for larger parties the complex is set around a pretty courtyard where you can bbq and enjoy being with others. Richard is a friendly and helpful host. The 'Information Room' is stacked with leaflets etc on activities. Plenty of kiddies dvds and books as well as some for adults. The heated pool and, sauna are great and, in our experience, if you visit early evening when the children are normally being fed etc it's possible to have the place to yourself. Very clean and spacey changing rooms. A fantastic base for exploring country or coast. Great value for money. Will return one day!

We booked this holiday very last minute so weren't quite sure what we'd be getting, but it turned out to be a complex of cottages all nestled on beautiful grounds with lovely views. The cottage itself was very basic and needed some updating and a good clean, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the holiday, and from hearing other guests views it sounds like the larger apartments might be in better condition. We really enjoyed sitting on our private patio and sitting next to the ponies late in the evening. The site generally felt very peaceful, although there was occasional noise from the road, more noticeable in the early morning, and the walls must be very thin as every night there was constant loud snoring from another guest! Nothing of this spoiled our enjoyment though and we had a lovely time.
