What our customers say about their holidays

Ty Pren is located down a lovely winding country lane on a quiet farm.
The lodges are set within an idyllic location away from noise with amazing country, sea views. At night you can see the lighthouse lit up, with the beam glancing across the lodge, a truly amazing sight. The small cluster of lodges are suitably distanced from one another, which allows you to have the privacy you need. With Two cars, Four guests and a Four legged companion there was more than enough space for everyone. The Lodge was inviting from the moment we opened the door, a bright, spacious layout which surprised us. Upon entering the main lounge, we found a bottle of wine and a welsh cake which was most appreciated after a long journey. The owners also supplied tea, milk and sugar to get us started, with a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine and tumble dryer if needed. There are local shops just a short drive down the road which is suitably stocked or there is a Tesco supermarket about 30 minutes away. The area surrounding the lodges is a country, coastal walkers dream. A beautiful Ten minute walk over the fields brings you down to Porthgain Harbour, you will be pleasantly surprised by how friendly everyone around the harbour is. The Sloop Inn is a great place to eat and have a nice drink to rest awhile and enjoy the scenery. The Shed is a sea food restaurant which has a wide range of food to suit all tastes, you will not be disappointed. There is boutique shops with artworks and the seaside nik naks for those wanting to take home a souvenir, with a free public toilet and car parking with Two designated charging points for electric vehicles. The views, atmosphere, coastal walks, great food and drink will make you want to stay longer next time. Thanks for a great stay and we hope to rebook sometime in the future.

He cottage was just as described, clean with good facilities and in a quiet and peaceful location.
The oil fired central heating worked a treat and had the place warmed up in no time. WiFi was very good and reliable, the kitchen was well fitted out and equipped and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding - all in all a cozy place to stay. The cottage is well located for local walks and plenty of places for the coastal path are easy to get to by car as are the towns of Pembroke, Milford Haven and Haverford West. We were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay and this went on to tick all the boxes for us. There is a local pub a short walk away and we visited four of the five nights we were there, staff and customers were friendly and a decent choice of beers were on tap as well - the only slight downside to it was that there was no food available, I think that may well be a seasonal thing as the leaflet/menu for the pub (in the cottage) looked good - but perhaps our stay in February was a little early for that - it wasn't a problem as we shopped accordingly. There is a washing machine and dryer available in the connected 'outhouse' which all looked fine although it wasn't a facility that we needed to use. Pauline the owner called to make sure everything was OK and to check we were happy with things and whether of not there was anything we needed. The fresh flowers on the dining room table, the packet of Welsh Cakes and the loaf of Bara Brith were a nice touch as well. It was all good and there wasn't anything we didn't like, if we were to be picky then I'd say the water pressure for the shower wasn't fantastic BUT to be clear it wasn't a problem and there was ample hot water for showering and bathing.

We have stayed at Ty Pren previously and we were not disappointed with our return visit.
There is a bumpy, potholed dirt track down from the farm to the lodges so a suitable vechile is required. I wouldn't arrive in a lowered vechile but you dont need a monster truck either. I drive a ford focus and we made it up and down there with no issues. Nothing has changed, apart from the weather. Whether sunny or rainy it's always a great time here away from it all. The views are still amazing and it is so peacefully quiet, its like being away from everything. You can walk down to Porthgain, cutting through the fields is quicker and going over the bridge with the water running underneath is so tranquil. The Sloop Inn is a great pub with amazing food, drinks and great staff, well worth a visit. The coastal walks are breathtaking, miles of views you will always remember. The blue lagoon is just a 5 minute drive away, just put Abereiddy Beach in the satnav/maps and it will take you there. There is parking on uneven, stoney ground so be aware of this before going. There is a charge of around £5 which is collected by someone before you park, i would advise to have the change to hand. They also provide public toilets which are free to use, no 40p required here. I would highly recommend a visit here. You can also walk from Porthgain to the Blue Lagoon, for those able to do so. Saint David's is also close by, amazing cathedral, shops, pubs, cafes all you could need for a great day out. To sum up, the lodge itself is worth the visit. The scenery and location is just an added bonus, I will most certainly be returning again.

I am not sure how much of our lovely stay in Pembrokshire was thanks to Ramsey Cottage sadly.
To start the address for the cottage is incorrect on the website. The check in and check out times differ on each area of the website page also. Upon arrival, ample parking and the property is set in an undeniably beautiful location. But our first observation of Ramsay Cottage was how long the grass was in the garden. We ended up asking one of the neighbours who lived on site to mow it for us when he was doing his own lawn. To add to that we believe there is Giant Hogweed growing in the courtyard which is in fact poisonous! A matter of hours after we arrived the WiFi went down and never came back on again in the four days we were there. So we are in the middle of nowhere with no signal or WiFi... We contacted the owner on multiple occasions but it never got sorted. We gave up in the end. There was no 'welcome pack' on arrival which is a given in every other cottage we have stayed in. Only one tea towel and no cleaning products or black bags. How are we meant to leave the property as we found it if there are no cleaning materials to do so? Also, a little odd to be asked to strip the beds, but hey ho! Having read all the previous reviews, I'd hoped they might have been acted upon but sadly not. Our stay in Pembrokshire was wonderful, and Ramsey Cottage could be absolutely stunning. It is a gorgeous little cottage, very clean and well presented but improvements overall needed.

The photos of this property are out of date.
The house is badly in need of professional decorating, inside and out. What the photos don't show is that this is the scruffiest looking house on the scruffiest looking street in the village. It was at least pretty clean although would benefit from a thorough spring clean. It's dark and smelt musty every time we walked in. It's not very welcoming to come back to after having been out walking all day. I would give it 3 out of 5, which means I wouldn't go back I'm afraid. A vase of flowers and a few Welsh cakes waiting for us on arrival don't make up for what feels like a neglected property. Needs more attention to detail. The location is ok but there is only one place in the village to get food and that's the village pub which serves very average food. If you want a decent meal then you have to drive elsewhere. Only a 20 minute walk from the stunning coastal cliffs though.
