What our customers say about their holidays

  • Sophie - Verified booking

Lovely big house in a great location.

The large garden with a stream running through was lovely & the hot tub was a treat after a day of walking with the dogs! 5 min drive to Killin, with a co-op & we can recommend the Falls of Dochart Inn & Courie Inn - but would book ahead! Beds were all comfortable and the kitchen well equipped but we had to do quite a lot of cleaning in the kitchen (& of the cutlery, etc) when we arrived, before we used it. Lots of storage, especially in ‘master’ bedroom The lounge and kitchen were both a squeeze for a group of 5 adults but we made it work! A different dining table (perhaps that folds when not all in use) and an extra couple of small chairs in the lounge would be ideal. The house could really benefit from some electric dehumidifiers or a change in the bedrooms to be able to open the windows as they are quite damp & you can see the damage it’s doing! A clothes airer would have been really handy as well as the tumble in the garage which we made use of. An info booklet on local walks, amenities, vets, history of the house would have been greatly appreciated. Regardless of the above, we had a great stay but with a few tweaks and some TLC this house could be PERFECT. Ps watch out for the Llamas over the road when you pull out the driveway ;-)

This is the second time we have stayed and we feel there has been a decline in the cleanliness.

So many cobwebs ( we live in the country so know this is an issue) however when you are paying for a service the expectation is that it will be clean. We had to hoover on arrival as the floor hadn’t been cleaned, still bits on the floor, sweet under the chair in the snug room. Really disappointed in the time we had there due to partners health and having to leave. Your communication was great about boiler and filter. Think a booklet could be made including the info about water and other useful info because that didn’t happen to us last year either. Also couldn’t find clothes airer which had been there on previous year, would be helpful to dry clothes. Piece of decking is rotten on entrance to veranda- could cause an issue. Dirty pans in the cupboards, had to clean them all before we could use them. Next doors dog was constantly barking- again not inclined to animals as we have our own farm animals and brought our own dog with us but it was constant. Not sure if your cleaner has changed but drastic difference since last year which is really sad as it is a lovely place with amazing views. We still would come back as it’s perfect for a restful stay but would like to see major improvements in the cleanliness.

Everything was perfect for our stay, including the weather!

The house is in a lovely setting, close to the river and very quiet, yet only a few minutes walk to the train station and centre of Stirling. It was spotlessly clean and spacious with nice decor and personal items, and very comfortable furniture. The kitchen was probably better equipped than mine at home, and we had the use of really nice china. Beds were extremely comfortable which was very welcome after walking all day, with nice bed linen. Brilliant shower. The little enclosed yard outside the back door is a delight, full of lovely plants and pots. Had the weather not been so good I would have happily spent a few hours going through the extensive book collection! We had lots of fabulous days out; to the Ochil hills at Alva glen, Callander and Queen Elizabeth forest park near Aberfoyle, Dunblane, Stirling University, Blackness Castle and the walk through the forest towards South Queensferry and Dollar with the climb to the castle. We were spoilt for choice and were captivated by everywhere we discovered. The house is in a truly great location for exploring and a delight to come home to.

We did have a lovely time at Milmore.

The cabin itself is set a little back from the owners property so no one feels intruded upon, which is lovely. The cabin itself was comfortable and roomy for the two of us and our two biggish dogs. The garden was brilliant, we all loved it. The end of the garden is literally on the Falls of Dochart, and you can see the Dochart River from the living room. Even though it was quite chilly I did spend an amount of time on the verandah drinking a coffee and just taking in the natural sounds. The kitchen was a little small for us, but reality was we were not cooking, eating out. Best place to eat out in order of quality and service, Courie Inn, Killin Hotel, Falls of Dochart Inn and Capercaillie. By the way the Falls of Dochart Inn does a doggie food bowl, chicken, venison and veg in the one we had for our dogs. They loved it! A bit of a novelty. The Courie Inn was exceptional. Wish we had that as our local. Some really nice walks from the Cabin. Mike and Jan, the hosts, met us and introduced us to the cabin, and were there if we needed. Thanks for the hosepipe! It was needed.

Lovely snug property, with wonderful views in an excellent location.

We hardly used our car all week, but we're still able to do a variety walks across a mix or terrain. Very useful porch for / lobby for drying people / hounds and hanging walking gear etc. I was a bit concerned about it being a cabin before we went as I was anticipating bad weather and due to it not being a "house" thought we may get chilly. I was right about the weather, wrong about the cabin. We were very cosy and comfortable. The location also gives a brilliant mix of being peaceful and secluded, whilst not being "cut off". We were able to walk to a decent sized shop easily and also never lost our 'phone signal - which we needed on this occasion. The owners made both ourselves and our hounds very welcome - just the right level of contact. Excellent introduction to the cabin and then left us to it - however we were very comfortable that had there been an issue they would have been there. All in all a lovely holiday and the property was excellent value for money - we hope to go back.
