What our customers say about their holidays

What an amazing site!
The owner was lovely, sending us a message on the evening of arrival to ensure we were happy with everything, welcome us into the âpodâ and letting us know to contact her at any point if thereâs any issues. On arrival in the pod, we were greeted by some lovely homemade produce, including; Jam, Vodka and Gin. We were also left a bottle of Prosecco, a bottle of milk, a large bottle of washing up liquid with a sponge and cloth, shampoo, shower Gel, conditioner, body and hand lotion, 2 bars of soap, vanity kit, shower cap, a selection of biscuits, ice pre prepared in the freezer for us, a large range or different teas and coffees (great for me who loves a hot drink!!!), a selection of different hot chocolates, salt and pepper sachets as well as sugar and sweeteners⦠I think that was everything! The Pod was spotlessly clean which is quite something for us and we were left 4 soft towels as well. The hot tub was lovely and private from the other pods and the garden had been well maintained with plants and a recent lawn cutting as well. Thereâs a TV, microwave, Kettle, duel hob ring (electric or induction- not sure) toaster, and integrated under counter fridge and decent WiFi. There was plenty of crockery and glasses as well as plastic glasses for the hot tub. - We did unfortunately break one of the plastic glasses on our last day and felt extremely bad, we let the owner know via text and she was extremely understanding and told us not to worry about it. The bed was very comfortable as was the sofa and although a small property, the layout had clearly been thought about so that you werenât constantly on-top of each other! The area is stunning with only a 10-15 min drive into the main part of Arundel with some lovely coffee shops and restaurants. On a side note: We would highly recommend The Swan Hotel for dinner with a carpark located behind (free from 6pm) the food was impeccable (Being a chef myself), the staff were lovely and they hold a Food Standards Agency hygiene rating of 5/5. We would very highly recommend Filbert Pod to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway near a lovely town near to Arundel, Bognor Regis and Chichester as well. Thank you to Pauline for such a lovely stay! Best Wishes, Will & James

A superb small, but perfectly formed, hideaway located on the headland at Selsey.
I spent a magical week exploring the coastline directly outside the property and further afield - Bracklesham Bay/the Witterings are only a short drive away. I went further afield to Bognor and Worthing as well as into Chichester. It was quite heavenly being able to hear the waves crashing from inside The Hideout and I spent many hours photographing the enormous and quite magnificent skies! I met some very friendly locals who were always keen to stand and wax lyrical about living in Selsey. It was so lovely to be able to take one of the beach chairs, left for ones use by the property owners, with a blanket and a book and sit on the beach until it was too dark to see and not have to make the effort to make a long drive home just a 30 second walk back to the property! Carole was friendly and kept in touch by text as we kept missing each other in person until the last day! A lovely bottle of rosé and some milk and water was left in the fridge which was a nice touch. Top quality linens and towels with extra blankets and enormous beach towels available as well. One minor point I hadn't quite cottoned on to is that there is no oven, but good quality hob and microwave to use if you need to cook. All in all, I'd definitely go back for another week of beach heaven.

The Hideout was perfect, exactly as described in the write up.
It was immaculate and fully equipped with everything we needed. The beach was right outside, (perfect for an early morning swim) and the waves could be heard from the garden which was very private and so relaxing. Carol and Steve were so welcoming and such happy people, which is understandable living in such an idyllic place. I walked early every morning with my dog and often saw the sun rise, it is a very dog friendly place and walks did take a long time as everyone wanted to stop and talk. We had meals at the Lighthouse Inn and would recommend it, friendly staff, good food and a lovely garden. Another must is Paddy's Plaice, the fish and chips were delicious and recommended by all the locals. The beach near the Hideout is pebbles but there is also a lovely sandy beach in West Wittering (that allows dogs) that is a short drive away. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to relax and 'get away from it all.' A big thank you to Carol and Steve it was a brilliant holiday. Julie and Martin...and Bert.

What an absolute gem!
I was in need of a recharge by the coast and found this place which looked perfect for my dog and I. To be so close to the sea was just amazing. At low tide in the morning and evening I could take just a few steps from The Hideout and be out walking my dog along a glorious sandy beach with hardly anyone but a few other locals walking their dogs in sight. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset with the beach to myself on the Saturday night. Loved listening to the waves when I relaxed in the garden to give my dog a rest from all the walking. It's a little suntrap! The accommodation has everything you could need, is really comfortable, and Carol the host was so helpful whenever I had a question. The perfect place to relax, enjoy coastal walks and with really friendly locals. Highly recommend and I will be returning!

The expression "stones throw from the beach" must have been written with this property in mind.
It's beachfront location is wonderful, within a couple of miles of every conceivable amenity and attraction. Quiet and underdeveloped, where the susurration of the waves and peaceful locale can restore the soul. Thoughtful design touches abound and an eclectic collection of knick knacks and wall art add to the overall beach hut theme. The photobook on arrival is a very novel and uber stylish way of communicating all the information you are likely to need - certainly streets above the usual dog eared A4 folder with a couple of local leaflets of things to do (which are legion). Not enjoyed a holiday this much in years and the weather could not spoil it. Thank you to my host for being so considerate and helpful and allowing us to stay in such a terrific property. Recommend to everyone. 6 stars.
