  Excellent location especially for walkers, and we had a very good time despite rain every day. No noise at night nor bright lights (nb wooden venetian blinds seem quite old so no idea if they would keep out full moonlight). The bed was OK for us. A pretty, separate garden for guests, with a sea view from the seat, which sadly we did not use due to rain. The cottage was generally clean and tidy but, given the age of some fixtures and fittings, we suspect that these are beyond the remit of the hours allowed for changeover cleaning. The shower has a weak flow so anyone with long, thick hair would be better taking a bath and using a saucepan for rinsing. There isn’t much of a view from the downstairs area so more than a day inside during incessant rain (especially during Covid restrictions) may be dispiriting for some. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage for outdoors loving friends/relatives who don’t need to travel huge distances from the other end of the UK. The rest would need more creature comforts.

  A great little cottage, with a sea view and a walk away from a stone beach. Nice forest walks around. The cottage itself was packed with things that will prevent any bordom - books, puzzles, and tv with film catalog as well as streaming platforms. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The warning is that the cottage is quite cold (besides the bedroom) as little heaters can’t fully warm up the room, but once you start the fire in the fireplace, it’s perfect. Probably the coldness is a bonus is warmer months but we visited in March. The other thing was that there were cobwebs throughout the house, which could be an issue to some. Overall, a great cottage stay at a great location (not touristy), and easy communication with the owner (if there are any issues, message ahead).

  Very clean, comfortable cottage with all you need for a simple, self-catering holiday. Plenty of hot water, very comfortable bed, all appliances worked well, Wi-Fi adequate for everyday browsing. Location is exceptionally quiet and outstandingly beautiful, backed by woodland, and with a wildlife par.... Very clean, comfortable cottage with all you need for a simple, self-catering holiday. Plenty of hot water, very comfortable bed, all appliances worked well, Wi-Fi adequate for everyday browsing. Location is exceptionally quiet and outstandingly beautiful, backed by woodland, and with a wildlife paradise garden reaching down to a view of the sea and Hurlstone Point, with loungers available in sun or shade. Very little traffic, as it’s at the top end of a small country road ending in a gated entrance to the lower toll road, and the coast path to Culbone. Good local facilities. Footpath to Porlock Weir is an easy ten minutes walk. Friendly owner lives in adjacent, separate property, and is very willing to help and respond to suggestions if needed, without being intrusive.

  I think Clive Burrows' review is accurate. Very comfortable, charming and attractive place to stay but best as a base for going out. Because (like all Exmoor coastal houses) the sea view is to the North and there is a very steep hill immediately to the South there is very little sun so the cottag.... Because (like all Exmoor coastal houses) the sea view is to the North and there is a very steep hill immediately to the South there is very little sun so the cottage can feel dark if it is anything but bright sunlight. So not for people who want to stay indoors perhaps. I would more than happily return however as the location for walkers could not be better. Also a really nice pub on the Porlock Weir beach within 5 minutes walk is a bonus! I suspect Porlock in the Summer is a nightmare to drive through so being on the toll road is handy and well worth the £2 if you are going South or West.

  Worthy Cottage was 'just right'. It was cosy, quiet and we woke each morning with sunlight, birdsong and rustling leaves on the trees. The cottage is well-equipped, well maintained and clean. The host was friendly and helpful, texting us to check that all was well at the beginning, middle and end o.... Worthy Cottage was 'just right'. It was cosy, quiet and we woke each morning with sunlight, birdsong and rustling leaves on the trees. The cottage is well-equipped, well maintained and clean. The host was friendly and helpful, texting us to check that all was well at the beginning, middle and end of the holiday - attentive but not instrusive. It is a short and easy walk on a path through fields to Porlock Weir for a stroll round the harbour with a pub, hotel, ice-cream shop and post box. There are many paths for walking that can start just outside the cottage or with a short drive . The geography and history of the local area are fascinating and the Exmoor National Park website is a treasure!
