  Marram House is a wonderful old house in a fantastic location. It has many fabulous original features and it was lovely and spacious for our large family gathering. The garden is also lovely and spacious. However, the house is in need of a very deep clean and a lot of TLC. We could barely open the 'conservatory' and back door to the garden. The wooden frames were so old and swollen, we were frightened that the glass in the doors would break when opening and closing them. The lounge sofas were old and could do with replacing. The cushions on the sofas also had rather unpleasant aromas, we had to remove them from the sofas. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped and most of the crockery and saucepans were dirty with unpleasant scratched surfaces on the saucepans. Most of the surfaces were sticky. The dishwasher was not very efficient, the dishes came out dirty. There were only 3 dishwasher tabs left for us, so we spent lots of time washing dishes and pans. Weirdly, there were about five 'steamers' for veg, but not one of them fitted either of the two available saucepans. There were only two tea towels. The bedrooms were spacious and comfy, but felt dusty, especially the curtains. We also found previous guests underwear in chest of draws in the front bedroom, the one with the cot, which, although we saw funny side, was rather unpleasant. The bathrooms were adequate, but could be updated without spoiling the character of the house. Having said all that we all loved Marram House, we didn't let these issues spoil our fun, but it would be so much improved by a good clean, new saucepans and new dishwasher.

  We all loved the house - the space, very comfortable beds, the restful decor, all the lovely paintings and prints of Southwold and its close proximity to the shops and sea. There was lots to do in the area nearby and Southwold has loads of nice boutiques, wonderful bakeries, and an amazing pie shop! Our three generation family especially enjoyed Framlingham Castle, the East Anglia Transport Museum, looking round medieval churches, Minsmere RSPB, Southwold pier and crabbing at the harbour. We would certainly go there again and would recommend it to others.

  We stayed for 2 nights in Eversden. A pre Christmas family trip to Southwold. . Eversden is a beautiful home and we were thrilled to find it dressed for Christmas. The house is perfectly positioned in town with a free car park at the end of the road. Large home with 4 beautiful bedrooms , spacious well appointed kitchen diner and lovely lounge. Eversden has everything you could need , very clean and tastefully furnished and decorated. We throughly enjoyed our stay here and we love Southwold

  The property is a little tired in places, certainly externally and in the garden areas. However, inside there are great social areas (large kitchen/diner, good size front room. Bedrooms are a good size, there are hot showers and clean, comfortable bedding. Kitchen items (dishwasher, kettle, crockery/cutlery) could do with a refresh/replacement but you'd think these would be easy "quick wins".

  Eversden is a great holiday property for a larger family group. The accommodation worked really well for 7 of us. The kitchen dining area was mostly where we spent our time as it's a great space with lots of light and access to the lovely garden. The location was great too - nice and quiet, yet easy walking for everything else in Southwold. I would highly recommend this lovely house.
