  We had a fantastic time at Laurel Bank Cottage.

  Lovely, spacious property and perfect location. The kitchen was well equipped, and the large range cooker was perfect for cooking meals for our family group. The microwave did not spin, and on closer inspection it looks like a previous guest may have burnt something as there is damage to the base. We didnt really use it but something that the owners might want to look at for future guests. The downstairs bathroom has a leak from the basin, and the upstairs shower was sometimes difficult to use as it was either freezing cold or scorching hot as the control didn't allow a happy medium. This didn't negatively impact our stay just feedback for the owners. Generally the property was nice and clean, although there was a lot of high level cobwebs that could do with dusting. There was lots of places to visit within a short drive of the property, and Embsay itself is a lovely village with a small shop and two pubs that did great pub grub. We would definitely recommend this property, we had a wonderful time.

  Eggleston is a lovely spacious house great for family get togethers.

  We had a lovely week staying at the house and the kitchen was well equipped which as a nice change to other houses that don't seem to expect you to cook. Some of the furniture is becoming tired (e.g. broken arm on the 2 seater settee) but the house was well equipped with books and games although we had taken our own. The link with Great Newsome Brewery was good and the cases of beer we ordered on click and collect were delivered ready for the start of our stay. The biggest downside to the house was the appalling wifi which frustrated everyone and the mobile signal was also poor. There was an abundance of flies and we had to buy a fishing net to fish them out of the hot tub but I think that was due to us being on a farm and haymaking going on in neighbouring fields. The hot tub was a beautiful location to enjoy the sunsets and we were sorry that the outdoor dining wasn't in this section of the gardens. The dining room was particularly spacious making it good for large groups. We very much enjoyed our stay.

  What a gorgeous cottage, recently renovated to a very high spec, in a very quiet spot, surrounded by farmland and nature.

  But also close enough to Withernsea that you can be on the beach in less than 20 minutes. The house is beautifully clean and spacious with extremely comfortable Emma mattresses on the beds. The showers are good and hot with great flow. The Kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The garden furniture was very comfortable, with a sofa for relaxing and a table for dining outside. It was so lovely to be in the garden and hear nothing but the gentle breeze and the odd bird. We saw hares, pheasants and of course the cows in the neighbouring field. The spacious lawn is beautifully kept due to the smart mower, it was perfect for a family football game. The dogs loved it too, lots of space to run around. The owner was great, very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We would highly recommend this place and hope to go back for another stay ourselves.

  Beautiful House, looks exactly like the photos in the most stunning location!

  9 girls aged between 29-40 had the most wonderful weekend here. Hot tub - great size stunning views! Beds - Extremely comfortable! Views - Beautiful Few notes from me to guests arriving in the summer. 1. Bring Bug Spray, Cream or anything to try and prevent the insect bites - Our group left with quite a few bites over the weekend but is to be expected given the location and we forgot bug spray! 2. The house does have quite a few insects inside - Spiders/bugs/flys/moths etc which again didn’t bother us and is to be expected but just to be mindful of anyone in your party has a phobia. 3.Sykes cottages listed check-in as 3pm however when we arrived we was told it was 4pm - I would confirm before you arrive if your planning to get there for 3pm :) Overall, would recommend this property! And Would Definitely Stay Again! Xxx

  Absolutely a 5* property and cannot be faulted.

  We visited as a party of 6 and 2 large dogs to celebrate a birthday. The house was spotless and everything was in working order. Bedrooms are beautiful and cosy with comfortable beds and the kitchen is stocked with essentials, plenty of everything. When we arrived we were greeted with a selection of local beers and a bottle of wine which set the week off perfectly. When we found that the heating was on quite high and weren’t sure how to lower it, Guy was more than happy to help us out and resolve the issue whilst telling us about the property and local things to do. Withernsea beach was a perfect distance away and our dogs loved it, also really good for seaglass hunting. We enjoyed visiting the brewery and would highly recommend their beers and ciders. Hopefully we will get the chance to return and would definitely recommend this property!
