Have just returned from spending a week in this lovely property. We were a party of 9 of mixed ages, old & young. On arrival the house was warm & cosy with the wood burning stove already set to light which we did! In the kitchen we found the most amazing & luxurious welcome hamper filled with local bread, cake, scones etc also in the fridge, butter, milk, chocolates & Prosecco! the best we have experienced and very very much appreciated by all. Onto the property itself, all five bedrooms are on-suite with good quality bedding & very comfy beds. The living room is cosy with ample seating, dining room large with it’s wood burning stove was great for meals & gathering round the table of a night for games. Kitchen was well laid out & equipped with a great utility room just off it. The wrap round conservatory was really nice but as it was cold we only managed one lunch it on a nice sunny day, it would be fantastic in the summer months. We used the Kota one evening to toast marshmallows which was great fun, again would be fab in the warmer months. We had one dog with us and were amazed that even she was well catered for too with a doggy welcome pack of treats, blanket, drying towel etc The house is in walking distance to the Main Street which has a Co-op, bakery, newsagent & choice of restaurants (Indian x 2, Fish & Chip shops x 3, we preferred Neptune’s lol) great walks along Bamburgh beach, again only minutes from the house. We’ve been to Seahouses many times over the last ten years or so and this by far has been the the best property we have had the pleasure to stay in, a credit to the owners David & Caroline who have lovingly renovated this beautiful property. I highly recommend booking with Coquet Cottages too, this was the second time I had booked with them and the process was smooth & friendly with excellent communication throughout. Thanks for a great holiday!

I unlocked the front door and everyone spilled in, excited to explore this unique holiday home. The bedrooms are all nicely decorated, no one felt short changed, with comfortable beds and good quality linens. The conservatory was a big bonus with comfortable seating and a play area. We loved the large garden with its lovely furniture, so nice to be able to linger outside chatting on a warm Summer evening. When the Sun was strong in the afternoons we spread out rugs under the shade of the wonderful mature trees. The sitting room has a large smart TV which was appreciated by some of the family. The kitchen and utility room are well equipped and convenient to the outside dining area. We used the Kota a few times for cooking but as we were lucky most days with the weather we didn’t use it to sit in. The area around North Sunderland/Seahouses is beautiful and we visited the islands and castles and beaches but we’ll have to return as we couldn’t fit everything in during just one week. Seahouses has something for everyone, a big seaside shop for buckets and spades etc and some small, pretty shops to explore. The Co-op is a great shop and I have to mention the Independent Store for fresh fruit and vegetables. I can recommend the bakery for lunch time snacks especially the mini quiches and the butcher for tasty sausages. Bamburgh has a good deli and butcher too. The Neptune is good for a fish and chip takeaway. Our dogs had a great holiday too. I’d definitely recommend The Old Manse.

A lovely big house and garden with top quality linens, comfortable beds and furniture. I had heard that the area around Seahouses was lovely, The Old Manse was dog friendly and big enough to accommodate our extended family as well as being tastefully decorated. The garden was big and safe for the children. We were delighted with the house. We had plenty of space to spread out or all come together. Top class garden furniture. The kota was a novelty and we cooked in it a few times when the weather was warm/hot it was a bit too smokey to stay inside. We liked the big garden and the garden furniture. Some very nice holiday homes have garden ‘stuff’ as an after though ie not very nice but here we were able to enjoy a few warm summer evenings sitting outside chatting – wonderful! The large conservatory was great when it was raining and very child friendly. The TV in the sitting room was also pretty impressive. We also loved the area and visited some of the more famous sights. The beach at Bamburgh near that golf club was our favourite.

My sister, dog, and I had a lovely week at Samphire. The house is a home from home with everything you need, including a very handy heated drying rail. We were disappointed, however, not to find a dvd player downstairs as advertised. The house is spotlessly clean and felt fresh on our arrival. The open plan room is light and airy with plenty of comfy seating to cosy into after a long walk. The house is perfectly positioned, close to the spectacular beach and The Landing restaurant. Beadnell village centre is a 15 minute walk away along Harbour Road with some wonderful views. Samphire is at the end of a small terrace which makes it more private than other properties with a large grassy area outside, perfect for those early morning doggy visits. The garden is small but catches the sun for alfresco dining and the artificial turf keeps it clean and mud-free.

We’ve had the perfect stay, celebrating a 70th birthday with 3 generations, ages range from 2-70. The house is amazing with everything we needed. The welcome hamper was very well received! Thank you, our welcome phone call was a lovely personal touch! All generations made use of the fire pit and toasted marshmallows! Even though we had brought “entertainment” for the kids, the toy chest and books went down a treat and the teddy bear, well what can we say… our 2 year old little boy just adored him. We all wished we could have stayed longer but we managed a couple of walks on the Bamburgh beach which included a bit of sand sledging! Fun filled weekend and memories.
