  My family and I stayed in the Stables Cottage for a weekend away for my fathers 60th. We all had an incredible time in this beautiful house, winding down and having family time in this delightful little country escape. As 3 adult couples we really loved the benefit of having an en-suite with each room. The house was immaculately clean and felt very homely, it was equip with everything we could have needed and more. We ordered food through the farm which was left in the fridge for us on arrival alongside an extensive welcome hamper. The dinner we had ordered through the farm was all freshly cooked for us, the portions were huge and it was all delicious! The beds were very comfortable and spacious so a good nights sleep was had by all. The animals on the farm were gorgeous and we were lucky enough to stay during kidding season, so lots of adorable baby goats running around among lots of other animals, it was like staying at a petting zoo farm. I really couldn't have improved anything about our stay. Thank you very much to James and Vanessa for being so friendly and helpful and for a perfect weekend away!

  House is absolutely fabulous.

  It was spotless and so warm and welcoming we really felt at home almost immediately. The 5 bedrooms were all well presented, lots of room and plenty of storage. Each had it's own character. The 2 sitting rooms, conservatory and large kitchen/diner meant there was lots of space to relax and unwind downstairs. The huge garden was well kept and the fish pond was brilliant. We had a couple of sunny days and a couple of cooler rainy ones. The house was perfect for all weathers. A real break from the hustle and bustle of life. We had a chance to properly switch off and reconnect. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  A fabulous stay in a wonderful rural location ( even though we did have bad weather). The welcome Hamper was extremely generous , I haven't see one this good pre covid. Plenty of useful utensils/crockery. Lovely soft bedlinen. We enjoyed using 2 bathrooms for just two of us. If I was being super critical , the only thing I would change is, for a bigger TV in the main area, and would use the current one in the Master bedroom. Communications with the owner was timely and clear . I would highly recommend a stay at Strawberry Lodge and we definitely plan a return visit soon.

  Fantastic location for a getaway with a group of friend or as a family.

  The house and its grounds are well kept with plenty of areas outside for relaxing. Great local pubs and restaurants nearby with plenty of walking routes. Amenities in the house are plenty - towels, bedding, sofa throws and extra throws for cold nights. Also very clean. We spent the weekend as a group of friends - did some running, spent time on the grounds and our evenings around the large kitchen table playing board games. I personally left a fleece at the property and Anna kindly posted this back free of charge! Great service and stay.

  Absolutely loved this wonderful character house.

  Very spacious and comfortable living rooms and bedrooms and well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and strong showers. Lovely welcome gifts and many extras provided handwash etc. Great garden for our dog and surrounding land and views and the koi Carp were amazing. Loads of great places and country parks to visit close by, Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold, Moira Furnace museum and canal, national space centre and numerous museums in Leicester.
