  Das Haus war wirklich toll, die Schlafzimmer geräumig mit großen Kleiderschränken. Die Betten waren bequem und wirklich sehr sauber, selbst die Kissen waren bequem. Es waren auch viele Bügel in den Schränken. Das Badezimmer war auch sehr sauber und die Temperatur ließ sich gut regeln. Es ist eine Badewanne im Bad, in der man auch duscht. Für uns kein Problem, für ältere Leute eventuell ein Problem. Die Handtücher waren auch sehr sauber. Seife war vorhanden das Toilettenpapier reichte bis zum letzten Tag. Es gab auch ein Reinigungsmittel. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, es gibt sogar einenGefrierschrank. Töpfe, Pfanne, Besteck, alles da was man benötigt. Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine auch da dazu auch Waschmittel und Spülmittel. Das Wohnzimmer war gemütlich mit mit viel Platz für alle. Im Wintergarten gab es einen Esstisch den wir aber nicht benutzten weil es doch etwas sehr kalt im Januar war. Wir konnten aber auch gut im Wohnzimmer essen. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und würden es weiterempfehlen oder selbst noch mal wiederkommen. Verbesserungsvorschläge: 2 Decken im Wohnzimmer um sich einzukuscheln. Die Lage war sehr gut 30 Minuten zum Zentrum, Bushaltestelle und einkaufen 5 Minuten zu Fuß. Die Schotten waren alle sehr freundlich und höflich. ÖPNV super.

  This accommodation has been very well organised and everything required is readily available in the farmhouse BUT three factors diminish its enjoyment : 1. incredibly hard mattresses on the beds, so unforgiving that I had to use a walking stick to get around for the rest of the holiday [and I don't usually need a stick !]. 2. the seating in the living room is generous but not particularly comfortable suffering the common problem of being too deep from front to back of the seating surface. 3. a perennial problem that we have suffered over the last 30 years : excessively dim lighting in the living area. The assumption seems to be that all guests will spend their evenings watching the TV, playing on an iPad or fiddling with their 'phones. We found the level of lighting so low that it became difficult and unpleasant to try to read a book or newspaper. Such a shame about these important details because we feel the owners have got the place fitted out about 85% right ! Hope all this helps ! With more accommodating mattresses, we would certainly visit again.

  Stable Cottage was one of the best holiday rentals we have stayed in.

  Spacious, comfortable, with a real feel of home from home. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil/pan you could need. Lovely beds and bedding, clean bathrooms. The living space works perfectly, we could all be together whilst preparing dinner and also sit out on the patio enjoying the views and the animals. The location was stunning, with beautiful views from every window. Well positioned for easy access to both Aberdeen and the Grampians , we visited some beautiful places like the Linn of Dee, Crathes Castle, Dunnotar Castle, Footdee and Aberdeen Harbour and even saw the salmon leaping at the Bridge of Feugh- what a privilege! Loved the chickens gently roaming around, the braying donkeys and, of course, Leroy, the dog, stole our hearts. He was an impeccably behaved visitor! Our host, Anne, was wonderful. She was very welcoming, there if you needed her, but completely non-intrusive. A lovely lady. We would recommend Stable Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful, but still full of life, holiday in a beautiful part of Scotland. Hidden gem!

  Beautiful property and location was breathtaking.

  Property has an exceptionally well furnished kitchen and children/baby crockery/plates too. Clean and spacious throughout. Fire, hot tub and firepit loved by all. Children loved the addition of a playstation for a evening of singstar/games. Alexa device present in kitchen too. Gardens well kept and fenced 90%. Wouldve been ideal if fully secured for dog/young children. Candles and torch easily located thanks to storm babet putting the power out for a short while. Fire kept us all warm. The neighbour is a gem. Called to check we were ok when the power was lost. Made sure we had everything needed and said farewell on day of departure. Furniture in main bedroom a tad dated/wobbly. Decking step at side needs attention as broken/dangerous. Barbed fence present on post leading around to hot tub needs removed for safety. Overall an exceptional holiday. Weather was good to us with several warm sunny days. Rain on arrival and departure days so cannot complain at that for October.

  A beautiful house we were very privileged to stay here for 7 nights and did not want to leave. Large house with spacious rooms all round including the outdoor space, we all immediately felt at home and were extremely comfortable. Home from home, the kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils needed to rustle up dinners for our family of 7. The beds were so comfy, not a complaint from anyone. The location itself is set within a very quiet area off the main road from the village of Corsock( approx 1 mile or so). The road itself to the cottage is single track with passing places however is in a poor state of repair in many sections, your car may take a bit of a beating with the many pot holes. As the crow flies the location is not far from the towns of Dalbeattie or Castle Douglass, however around 20 to 30 minutes drive your pace is dictated depending on which road you choose and have to negotiate. Overall, a real gem. Definitely be back.
