What our customers say about their holidays

We had an excellent stay at Middle Barn cottage and can highly recommend the property.
There were many personal touches that made us feel welcome and added to our stay, such as a courtesy call on our day of arrival, fresh eggs and some wine set out for us, the cot we requested fully set up with bedding, and toys set out in the child's playroom when we arrived. The dual sitting rooms are perfect for a mixed family setup, with a child's playroom and larger living room next door, and the kitchen is big enough to host everyone at mealtimes. The bedrooms are cosy and there is more than enough storage for an extended visit. The garden is private and pleasant, and the hot-tub is an excellent bonus. A few tips for anyone booking a stay: * The road down to the property is narrow, steep and potholed, but can be navigated without trouble by driving carefully at low speed. * There is enough parking for at least 3 cars right outside. * Food delivery and taxi firms found the cottage without too much trouble. * Upstairs and downstairs have separate heating controls, and we found that upstairs became too hot at night if you increased it above 16 degrees. Many thanks to Bev for the hospitality and ideal location during our visit to the area!

The property was lovely with little extras that ''made it''.
We walked in to lovely music, warmth and a homely feel. A welcome pack of biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco and a cute milk bottle! (Not sure if that's std or left by others) On arrival, the initial drive into the back yard area was a little shock - a bit of a run down look, however we feel its maybe being done up and should we return in a year or so, it could look very different. The deer and the hens roaming about are lovely to see, with feed provided for them - had great fun feeding the fowl :-) The yard area and hot tub is private, well maintained and ready for use on arrival. The house is well stocked, welcoming and modern. The owner (Bev) was VERY friendly & helpful, with lots of local knowledge and never tired of my questions! lol Was nice to have direct contact with the owner, instead of someone with no knowledge of the property or area. Local shops are about 40mins walk away, Local WMC ( Bocking WMC) 10mins walk and worth a visit - very welcoming, friendly and looks like recently modernised. Steam train runs from the station within the local village.

âAmazing stay at Little Barn.
" I cannot recommend highly enough. A perfect base for exploring West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. The property was great. It had everything youâd need and was tastefully decorated throughout. The welcome basket and fresh eggs were much appreciated treats. The views were beautiful. There were wild deer in the grounds, never been so close! Quite the experience. The chickens also popped by to say hello each morning. You could see the Keighley and Worth Valley railway steam train pass by from the window. Visited Hebden Bridge, Malhamdale including Malham Cove, Janetâs Foss and Gordale Scar, Harrogate, Haworth and Goit Stock falls. There were lots of nice places to eat within a short drive. Galoâs kitchen in Ilkey was so good and such great value. Also went to the Shibden Mill Inn, Engine Social in Sowerby Bridge and Bettyâs tea rooms in Harrogate. After a day out exploring, to return to the large hot tub, the private patio area, the free standing bath and comfy bed were just what was needed. Bev was extremely helpful and a lovely host.

Myself and my Husband visited the Little Barn for a few days stay following our wedding on 04/6/21.
We should have been married in April and been on our honeymoon abroad, but due to covid our plans changed. We have never been to Yorkshire before, but we were not disappointed. The little barn is exceptional, the decor is to such a high standard, the bath overlooking the dales is beautiful, and the hot tub in its secluded courtyard is wonderful. we had everything we cod possibly need, and had the most fantastic time. Azeems Indian Takeaway is a must try, and the Treehouse in Haworth is well worth a trip for fabulous cocktails and food. We had an amazing walk to Brontë Village where we visited the The Cabinet of Curiosities and got some beautiful witchy themed bath bombs for the amazing bath tub and an fantastic senic walk to Brontë waterfalls. The weather was glorious, and the walks and pubs/ restaurants are more than you could ever need. I would recommend the little barn, it's a fantastic location and we couldn't have asked for a better 'mini moon'. The host Bev was so helpful, we cannot wait to return! Thanks for the most amazing stay!

We stayed at Little Barn for three nights and really enjoyed our break away!
The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need and is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. We ventured off to Ilkley, Skipton and Haworth during our stay and did some fantastic walks in glorious weather (makes a change!)! Returning back to the hot tub at the cottage was a real highlight and we thoroughly enjoyed a dip each evening! Communication with Bev the owner was great and she went above and beyond to provide everything we needed, including a lovely welcome hamper! The main highlight (well my wifeâs highlight) was the chickens, who visited us each morningâ¦..mainly because they got fed with the chicken feed provided!! We also saw deer while at the cottage which was a real treat! The only thing I would say that could improve the cottage would be a king size bed in the downstairs bedroom! Not a major issue, but a bit more comfortable for those of us over 6â and thereâs plenty of room to fit one in! Overall, for a relaxing break away, I would highly recommend a visit to Little Barn!
