What our customers say about their holidays
Gemma - Verified booking
I am very disappointment that i have checked out of the lodge and received an unexpected £180 cleaning bill because i left a bag of rubbish, 2 bowls to be washed and not hoovered the carpet or made the beds.
I was sent a picture of the bed not made, some crumbs on the carpet and a bowl to be washed and a bag of rubbish. Surely when every person checks out of the lodge you get it deep cleaned surely thatâs in the price you pay when booking? Surely you Wash/change the bedding? & Sanitise all the kitchen, bedrooms bathroom? Surely you donât rely on the people renting the lodge to make sure itâs at a high cleaning standard for the people next checking in? As thatâs very very unhygienic & you should be getting the lodge deep cleaned after every stay! I came away with my 4 year daughter whoâs currently on chemotherapy & my son whoâs 8 to have a few days respite between my daughters treatments I thought we could go away and enjoy some time together we rushed back the morning of check out and left a couple of bowls to be washed & beds not made and a bag to be disposed and we have been charged £180 I find this disgusting. I have never stayed anywhere where I have been left responsible for cleaning the property to an inch of it life before checking out. When booking there is nowhere that states if I donât clean the lodge I will be charged. It says if there is damage I will be charged and there was no damage to the property! I expect cleaning fee to be returned to my account immediately.

We had an amazing stay at the lodge.
It was in such a quiet and relaxing park and the pitch itself looking out at the small pond was wonderful. Just what we needed for our escape. I hadnât realised the access to the pool wasnât included or that day passes literally meant you could come and go - both of these things would have been helpful to know as £25 a go for a family for a swimming session adds up. However the pool and facilities were very good and we did use them. Including visiting the lovely restaurant. The hot tub is very large and was a wonderful addition. The main reason we booked! As well as outdoor seating that we were able to use in the April sunshine!!! The bathroom with a BATH was superb and additional en-suite just made everything more comfortable for us. Your selection of games and especially dvds went down so well. The van was fully equipped and we really enjoyed the stay. Nearest shop/supermarket is Tescoâs approximately 10 minute drive which is useful and the drive to beaches including Morecambe was only short which meant getting out and enjoying the sea air was easy. There was a manual for everything in the van plus taxi numbers, places to visit etc which meant not having to do the leg work yourself. You canât wish for more from a booking. Peaceful and (almost) perfect.

The Barbon was an excellent base to get away from current problems in the world and perfect for a family.
There is enough space for everyone to have their own escape but loads of shared area to have real quality family time. The great things about The Barbon are the hot tub which is really well maintained and spotless, the firepit and BBQ. We were blessed with the weather so were outside most of the time. The kitchen area and living area allow for lots of shared family time. Areas for improvement- the tv is internet tv only so you will need to sign into your own accounts to watch anything. It wasnât a problem for us but might be for others. The inly other thing worth a mention is there is a glamping site next door which we didnât know about so if you are expecting isolation this place has 11 shepherd huts next door. The Barbon and The next door accommodation are kept very separate, but they are there. The site is however situated in a rural area - 20 mins to the nearest supermarket so itâs probably worth arranging a food delivery rather than popping to the shop and a pub about a mile away which isnât really walkable as the roads are very narrow. Also on our last day the water became Luke warm so showers were less than pleasant. A disappointing end to an otherwise perfect stay. We had a fabulous stay though and would highly recommend it.

Truly amazing stay.
Gorgeous peaceful surroundings, obviously everyone goes for the hot tub which is fed from an underground spring and heated 24 hours a day everything is perfect. You have a complimentary fire pit kit with logs for your first one, I guarantee that once you get into the hot tub with the flames dancing one fire will not be enough. I forgot about work and was so chilled after this break I was horizontal for days. The host is a lovely lady, so hard working and nothing is to much trouble. Highly recommend. The shops are a little bit of a distance as you are secluded but it's well worth it no stress. I recommend going to Glasson Dock approx 6 miles away the Dalton Arms does an amazing breakfast and pint of Guinness (we were on holiday) then if your into posh nosh from lobster to wild boar pate pop next door to the port of Lancaster Smokehouse for things to take back to the pod. We will be returning unfortunately my wife won't let me go back next week. This isn't a downside, housemartins like to nest around the outside light above the door, the owner keeps it under control but if you hang a plastic bag around the light in the day it keeps them away and saves your lovely host from scarecrow duty. Thank you.

The Lune is a lovely property, however during settling in we realised that the property was not as clean as it should have been.
There was large amounts of dust everywhere, even plaster dust from when the property was built which ended up on our clothes from the cupboard space. There is also lack of storage space in the family room so we ended up living out of our holdalls for the week. The sofa was filthy with food stains and crumbs under the cushions. We even found an old sock and jigsaw pieces down the sofa and underneath the sofa was thick with dust. We found ourselves wiping surfaces down ourselves. In addition, disappointed to not have received a small welcome pack upon arrival which should be standard for guests so there was not even a scrap of milk for us. That said we enjoyed our holiday and would return if the above issues were addressed.
