What our customers say about their holidays

It is everything that others have said and a whole lot more... Itâs quite simply a beautiful place and location, home from home... There is literally everything that you could possibly want or need... Where do I start... The hot tub... fantastic and private! The kitchen... spotless, well laid out, everything you need Shower room... spotless, large and endless toiletries and two bath robes Outside toilet... spotless and perfect BBQ hut, however it looks in the photos, doesnât do it justice⦠itâs quite simply a stunning place... and much larger than you think from the outside. Again, everything you could wish for plus so many little romantic touches... The railway carriage... spacious, warm, clean, well laid out, with a small kitchen and toilet with wash basin... The outside space... beautiful views and many seats/benches... Jeannie the Owner and Host... warm, friendly, non-intrusive and sooooo helpful... a wonderful lady that really does add so much. Thank you for letting us stay, R & M x

Last minute booking for myself, husband and son (15) and what a find!
Warm and welcoming host who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and even left us a welcome bottle of bubbles and biscuits. The lodge was immaculately presented but still felt homely..even better than the pictures. It is situated with another in its own grounds with breathtaking views of the countryside and 2 lakes that are a stones throw away. The wildlife we saw and fed on our stay from Canadian geese with their young, ducks, rabbits and pheasants, to sit and watch the huge fish and dragonflies was truely magical. The lodge has everything you need, the beds are super comfortable, big fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer and of course the hot tub which was clean, hot and ready to get right into! If your looking for peaceful getaway or a beautiful base to explore Devon, I can't recommend staying here enough. We cant wait to return ..next time I'm bringing my fishing rod, binoculars and staying longer!! Thanks again The Farrer Family X

We loved our stay at Nirvana. The separate units are all beautifully laid out and appointed. Jeannie & Will were super friendly & have tried to think of everything. We particularly liked sitting in the hot tub looking out at the lovely view, but also cooking steak over the fire in the barbecue hut and wandering around the 100-acre farm. We saw one of the local herds of wild deer and hearing them at dawn & dusk was magical. We cycled the Grand Western Canal, ambled through Dulverton, marvelled over the age of the Tarr Steps and explored the house & gardens of Knightshayes. The Stoodleigh Inn (open Thu - Sun) was very welcoming & Liz cooked for us when she was on her own. We love exploring different places, but this is definitely on our list to return to and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic place to unwind and relax while still being able to visit interesting local places. Thank you so much Jeannie & Will!

We couldn't have asked for better! We booked to go to Nirvana as our mini-moon the weekend after we got married to prolong the 'wedding bubble' and we're so glad we did. Everything there was perfect, including things that most holiday stay owners wouldn't even think of. Jeannie was so friendly and welcoming and left us a lovely little welcome hamper with prosecco as she knew we were there following our wedding. She also left us 2 bars of hand-decorated honeymoon chocolate which was such a nice touch. The weather was perfect for our first 2 days, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet and going into the local town. The 3rd day was raining, but we enjoyed spending time in the railway carriage and the BBQ hut - even used the hot tub in the rain which was very relaxing. I could go on and on, as there were so many great aspects to this trip. We will definitely be going again - have already started planning what we'll do on our next visit.

Spacious lodge in a quiet setting with fishing lake which was a bonus.
Caught some large carp. Clean throughout but getting abit tired in places. Recliner seats did not work. Dining room seats worn. Flooring was coming up in places. Little things which would have made it 5 star rating. Hot tub was well used. Although would have made it better if it was covered up as we had to use umbrellas in the rain. The lodge does have a washing machine/tumble dryer which is not mentioned in the property details. There are no instructions on how to use the cooker/microwave which was a problem. In the end we had to use Google to fathom to work them to cook things. You access the lodge via a long single track with hardly no passing places so beware. Nearest supermarket is back in Tiverton but there are two Spar shops in Bampton for the essentials but difficult to find somewhere to park. We would book again if we were looking for a peaceful setting.
