What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed in Pheasants lodge for a week in July.
2 x adults and 1 x 16 year old girl. On arrival we were very impressed with all the home comforts and touches. It was super clean and smelt fresh. The lodge is well stocked with pretty much everything you will need. Lots of space and storage too. The outside area was a lovely surprise, it had the sun all day and there was not only a table and chairs to eat outside, but also a nice little sofa set to relax on. It is dog friendly but we decided not to bring our dog last minute as she had been unwell. However, the place is perfect for dogs, the porch is enclosed all the way round and there is plenty of space inside. It didnât smell of dog at all either. The location was perfect for everything we planned to do. We found it was quite central to our plans. The wifi for the park is not great, this is not the fault of the lodge but the park. However we werenât bothered as we came away to unplug and enjoy being outside and away from technology. We would recommend the lodge to friends and family. Thanks so much.

First stay at pheasants nest.
Lovely lodge, clean and very well maintained . Well equipped. Very comfy sofa and bed, but pillows not fit for purpose (or clean) need replacing. Disappointed that the finishing âhome from homeâ touches were not provided as in other lodges weâve been to on site. Eg lack of spare toilet roll; liquid soap at all sinks; Washing up liquid bottle had quite literally two squirts in it. Yes 3 dishwasher tablets were provided but for 7 days?? No salt and pepper provided. No small carton of milk or any tea/coffee provided. Which is always a very welcome and much appreciated gesture after a long journey. No spare kitchen bin liners. I could go on ; whilst these may seem little things nowadays people expect them to be provided (& were in other privately owned lodges weâve stayed in, so I suppose we had come to expect) especially as the cost of hiring the three lodges weâve booked and stayed in at Limefitt this year has gone up dramatically.

Beautiful house, location was brilliant just outside Ambleside.
The private car parking was a huge plus too, can be tricky to find in the lakes. Kitchen was great, beds were all comfy as was the living room (lots of space in living room too). It looked as though it hadn't been used for a week or two, and had therefore not been cleaned immediately before our stay (lots of obvious cobwebs in more than one room). Couple maintenance issues that need addressing, the upstairs sink was leaking, the downstairs en suite shower drain was partially blocked, and the kitchen lights kept flickering if we turned them up (worked fine when on the lowest setting so not a huge issue). Also I would say one drawback about the layout of the house is the downstairs toilet is very cramped. Still an enjoyable stay overall, have been before and probably would stay again if those maintenance issues were sorted.

This is a lovely cottage which is full of character and located in a beautiful setting. The cottage is equipped with everything you could wish for including very good wifi and there was even a Tassimo coffee machine. Louise, the owner has thought of everything whilst retaining the essence of a stone built cottage and was the perfect host with great communication, help and advice. The log burner and plentiful supply of logs made our winter stay even cosy and very homely. This cottage is ideal for those with dogs in terms of location for walks, the secure garden and flag stone floors which are easy to clean from muddy paws. We cannot recommend this cottage enough. We will definitely return.

This was a lovely property, perfectly situated for many of the main lower lakes.
It was comfortable and spacious for 6 of us and we were impressed with the kitchen and living room in particular as they allowed us to spend time together with lots of space to relax. The cleanliness could be improved, there were lots of spiders webs and spiders throughout the property which made the place feel a bit dirty, plus no hand soap was provided in any of the bathrooms which I would expect as a minimum. It was also a shame that other than tea bags, there wasn't a welcome pack of a pint of milk and a cake or packet of biscuits which I have experienced in all other cottages I've visited. Overall, I would happily stay again, and I hope the feedback has been constructive.
