About this property

An impressive Maison de Maître with cool interiors, Maison Vogue perfectly combines the old and new in this delightful part of western Burgundy.

You can sense the history of this elegant home not only by its impressive exterior but also through its original features such as old fireplaces and exposed wood-beamed ceilings. Yet this Maison de Maître has been renovated in an otherwise totally contemporary style with modern furnishings, smart fittings and state-of-the-art appliances.

The sleek open-plan kitchen will impress the keenest chefs whilst the dining room is fit for a feast. The living space is bright with light flooding in through the windows whilst each of the four king-size double bedrooms offer simplicity and style. A mezzanine level with two sets of bunk-beds offers even more space for family or friends to stay in this splendid maison.

Surrounded by glorious countryside, the views from this home are beautiful whether relaxing by the heated swimming pool or admiring the vistas from a bedroom window. The enclosed grounds are charming with lovely lawns for sunbathing and terraces for dining al-fresco whether a leisurely lunch or summery evening meal by the barbecue under the starry sky. You may even spot a roaming chicken as you wander around the spacious gardens, marvelling at the gentle landscapes around you.

This is western Burgundy, a region of pretty scenery, picturesque villages and historic towns. The area is filled with activity whether its playing tennis nearby, hiking, cycling or horse-riding through the countryside or canoeing on nearby lakes or rivers. There are also tree-top adventures, farms for the children and brilliant castles for all the family including fascinating Guédelon where you can watch a 13th century castle being built using only authentic tools and locally sourced materials.

Wine-lovers should head to Sancerre, just across the Loire river or north to the vineyards around Chablis, perhaps combined with a visit to amazing Auxerre with its historic centre and towering cathedral.
