About this property

In the heart of the Loire valley, Château de Raguerniere is a magnificently decorated 19th century château which sits in a private estate of 22 acres of formal gardens, rolling fields and woodland.

Close to the picturesque town of Langeais by the Loire River, this elegant château offers beautifully designed accommodation for up to 15 guests. It’s living spaces are impressive with fine furnishings and antiques that have been carefully selected alongside a great sense of space. From the formal salon, medieval dining room and billiard room to the relaxed TV lounge, gym and cocktail bar, there is ample room for everyone.

Nine individually designed bedrooms allow flexible sleeping options across the upper floors. Some bedrooms are suites with their own sitting rooms and all nine of the attractive bedrooms feature their own bath or shower room.

Enjoy nature walks and jogging trails across the vast grounds or simply make the most of the glorious swimming pool with the historic château as your backdrop. An array of activities awaits from badminton, boules and croquet to a 9-hole frisbee golf course and golf range. Pick seasonal fruit from the orchard and see what may be growing in the kitchen garden.

The location of Château de Raguerniere is fantastic – it’s only a short drive or walk to the local village with its restaurants, weekly market and the incredible Château de Langeais, one of the oldest castles in the region. Other grand châteaux of the Loire valley are within a short drive including Château de Villandry, Château d’Ussé and  Château d'Azay-le-Rideau.

The Chateau itself is wow, truly beautiful. It has plenty to do, such as swimming, frisbee golf, badminton, table tennis and a games room for children, and set in stunning grounds. We stayed a week and had more than plenty to enjoy during our stay. It’s also well located to walk in to Langeais where there is a beautiful large castle with gardens, with daily displays of a working drawbridge and falconry which our young children loved. It’s also very well located for trips to some of Loire’s best castles and gardens. We opted to be catered for breakfast and evening meal throughout our stay, the food was nothing short of incredible! For reference we were a party of five people including two children aged 6 & 8.

We just wanted to thank you again for making our time in the Loire so special. You truly did leave a footprint on all our hearts. We even named Annie's new doll after you! Stay well and and perhaps our paths will cross again.
