Set in the beautiful countryside just outside Sauveterre-la-Lémance, Maison Lemance enjoys a rural yet well-connected position by the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne border. This is the perfect base for discovering the region’s glorious landscapes, charming bastide towns and gastronomic delights.

Around 1.5km from the medieval village of Sauveterre-la-Lémance, with its historic château, small shops and public tennis court, you’re surrounded by rolling hills, oak woods and pretty farmland that feel truly off the beaten path.

A short drive south brings you to the atmospheric town of Fumel (14km), perched on the banks of the Lot River. Here, you’ll find all the essentials - supermarkets, restaurants, riverside cafés as well as the opportunity to paddle along the river by canoe. Also in the Lot-et-Garonne, the hilltop village of Monflanquin (30km) and the wine-scented lanes of Puy-l'Évêque (17km) invite trips packed with regional charm and opportunities to explore local vineyards within half an hour.

Meanwhile, just half an hour north the Dordogne River winds past Siorac-en-Périgord (32km) and onward to the postcard-perfect villages of Domme (44km) and La Roque-Gageac (45km), both around 45 minutes by car. Domme’s golden stone walls and clifftop views offer spectacular panoramas of the valley, while La Roque-Gageac enchants with its riverside troglodyte dwellings, boat trips and canoeing adventures beneath sheer limestone cliffs.
