Guests have use of onsite facilities that include watersports, play areas, and a bar and restaurant. They can fish next to the lodge, and the owners have provided a two-person kayak for them to use on Windrush Lake.

The Cotswold Water Park was designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Every feature of the venue has been considered carefully to ensure human visitors and residents feel at home and protect the natural habitat of the birds and wildlife that flourish in the 40 square mile nature reserve. With more than 150 lakes at your disposal, there are endless opportunities to enjoy being on or beside the water. Fish for carp within only a few meters of the lodge's huge deck, and make use of the free two-person kayak that is at your disposal to paddle around Windrush Lake. Water skiing, boating, and other water sports are all popular, with local equipment hire and tuition for those who desire. Other sporting facilities include a football green with nets, three tennis courts (including one with floodlights), a games venue with table tennis, pool tables and other indoor fun, a playground for children to enjoy, and a sandy beach on the lake. There is also a stream. There are miles of accessible footpaths and cycling routes within the nature reserve, and the Thames Path and Cotswold Way are nearby for longer jaunts.
Staying at Grey Heron Lodge puts you in a fantastic position to explore the wider Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (aonb). The ancient Roman town of Cirencester, known as the "Capital of the Cotswolds" is only five miles away, with an excellent choice of places to eat, drink and shop. Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Camden, Broadway, and the famous Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury are all also within a short drive.

Outside: The lodge has a big deck which wraps around the ground floor. It has a gas barbecue and outdoor dining area, a separate seating area with a sofa and low table, and a four person hot tub with lighting and Bluetooth connection for music. The two-person kayak and buoyancy aids are kept on the deck as well. Parents please note that the deck is not completely enclosed and young children should be supervised as the lake is only metres away. There is off-street parking next to the property.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included, as are complimentary toiletries and a welcome pack. Dogs may be accepted with the owner's prior agreement - please speak to the owner should you wish to bring a dog. A travel cot (no bedding) and high chair are available. Smoking and vaping indoors or near the hot tub is not permitted. Short weekend breaks (minimum of two nights) are available, depending on availability.
