There are a lot of excellent attractions and restaurants in the upscale community of Duffield, which is located south of Belper. Among the many attractions in the area are the ruins of Duffield Castle and the Chevin Golf Club. Another historic town, Beaurepaire (meaning "beautiful refuge"), is located not far from Belper. It has a long and distinguished history that dates back to the 13th century and is still known by the name today.
