About this property

Tucked away in the historic market town of Chesterfield, near the Peak District National Park, is this attractive, detached holiday home, Spire Haven. Benefiting from a spacious driveway for off-road parking and enclosed garden to dine alfresco in the warmer months, this lovely dwelling is ideal for both families and friends seeking an adventure. Step inside to be welcomed by the light and airy open-plan space, where you can relax on the sofa with a cup of tea as the Smart TV does the entertaining. The contemporary kitchen offers an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher making your stay a breeze. When meals are served, gather around the dining table to tuck-in and recount the day's adventure; open a bottle of fizz to celebrate the occasion! As the evening draws to a close, retire upstairs and choose between four well-presented bedrooms, including a super-king-size (zip/link), a king-size with an en-suite, another double and a twin bedroom. In the morning, begin your day with a hot shower in the en-suite or family bathroom before savouring a home-cooked breakfast and cup of coffee. Located on the banks of the River Wye is the town of Bakewell, home to Bakewell Old House Museum, boutique stores and independent cafes to fuel your excursions. Ramble the unspoilt landscape of the Peak District National Park to view a plethora of wildlife and be sure to stop off at the grand estate of Chatsworth house. Venture into Matlock for a day out; The Heights of Abraham is a great place to start, offering stunning views of the town and the surrounding countryside. Then, head to the Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade for some family fun, or visit Cromford Mills for a glimpse of Derbyshire's industrial heritage or if you're looking for something a bit more adventurous, why not check out The Great Masson Cavern or Matlock Farm Park? A lovely afternoon can be spent at one of a handful of nearby historical sites, including the picture-perfect Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall and Bolsover Castle; why not take a picnic for your day out while exploring the lovely, manicured grounds. All this and more awaits at Spire Haven.

Chesterfield, the historic market town that serves as the Peak District's gateway, has a lot to offer visitors. The town's 14th-century church is known for its "Crooked Spire," which twists strangely from its actual centre, and the town's regular hectic market days are great for visiting the many diverse speciality shops and stalls that line the old Market Hall and lovely Shambles beyond. Queens Park, with its lake, footpaths, and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre, are all located in the town. The Elizabethan Hardwick Hall, which overlooks the exquisite gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds, is still spectacular today, with its 6 majestic towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick's initials.

Extremely clean. Lots of thought gone into making our stay comfortable. Was quiet. Yet near shops and lovely places to visit within a 30 min drive. Would highly recommend this property.

Thank you Tracey and Martin for decorating the house so festive for the holidays! We had everything we needed, and the house was perfect for our family, close to everything Chesterfield has to offer. We had a longer stay, so having access to a dryer would have been helpful but we still managed without one.
